  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I've added several aftermarket trim parts to my car (chrome, badges, etc.) and they all blend in well, but I haven't yet found an attractive read deck spoiler.

The ones I've seen all look like they were glued on. Don;'t get me wrong, they look OK, but they seen ti be an afterthought, and don't complement the existing lines of the car the way I'd like.

Has anyone seen a good design they'd recommend? I'd greatly appreciate some leads, web links, etc.

Thanks,

What looks good to you may not look good to me.

My body kit sponsor is going to make one. I'm not sure what the design's going to be, but my guess it's going to be similar to our coupe model.

Will most likely have a roof spoiler also, but I think there's already one on the market (as stated above).

lovin the smoked out lights. thought about that for my 4.6 sedan but its definitely illegal...

You can slightly smoke them. Look at the 2005 Trailblazers. They're smoked from the factory. I'd argue that fact. (Sorry to threadjack.) You can see mine here. /threadjack.

Here's mine. It is a factory accessory I had the dealer install upon delivery. It is bolted on with 4 bolts. Looks quite good to me.

I can't remember what the website was where I ordered my painted lip spoiler, however the spoiler arrived with the Step-by-Step NO-Drill instructions from the manufacturer, who is Dallas Automotive Restyling. (888-556-2301) You can see a photo in their web;

www.dallasautomotiverestyling.com I'm very happy with the spoiler. I even gave the web address to my local Hyundai Dealer (not my selling Hyundai Dealer) and he now installs this lip spoiler on most of his new Genesis'. This lip spoiler is held on with 3M Double Sided Tape, and the spoiler has not moved since I installed it, even after many many automatic car washes. Once this 3M tape sticks to anything, it will not come off.

One tip that I posted back a few months ago, when I first installed this no drill lip spoiler. Before you remove the tape backing, and you are comfortable with the placement of the lip spoiler, then after you clean the surface area of the trunk to be covered by the lip spoiler, using Isopropyl Alcohol;

(the following is my tip, not the manufacturers instruction)

Get a water hose near the trunk. Remove the 3M tape backing. (do not touch the tape to the trunk, because once it sticks, it is on for good and you can't remove it in case the position is not perfect) Water the trunk area and the tape on the lip spoiler. A good soaking. While still wet, lightly place the lip spoiler in position. Because everything is wet, you can slide the spoiler around until the position is perfect. Only then, should you push down on the spoiler to have it stick to the trunk. Wipe the water off the trunk and the spoiler with a soft cloth. Push down again to make sure it sticks. Note that the tape will still be wet, so ---- Do Not Drive The Car For A Few Hours, or overnight. The water from the tape should have evaporated by then. Next morning, again, push down hard on the spoiler to make sure it is sticking good.

Then drive the car with pride.

I put on a spoiler at the top of my rear window. It looks great and gives my Genesis a touch sportier look. It was custom made in Asia.

I just got mine in the mail. Guys in Taiwan did good work, always kept in contact and were reliable. Haven't glued it on yet-- Should increase top speed to around... 250 mph--

Sorry Scott but if you've ever studied wind tunnels and aerodynamics, wind is swirling above the trunk is to no effect. Looks good though-- If you want any effect on windstream the top of the rear window is the place to do anything--

Don't get me wrong. It looks good and even above the rear window it probably doesn't make any difference. It's all about personal taste-- Above the window though will probably give you about 50 mph more top end--:)

Just to be clear.....many people would understand that this spoiler will not offer any performance value. Only aesthetic.

Wanna find me some dual-walled, quad exhaust tips with an offset that would fit perfect on the Genesis. Don't get me wrong, I llike the magnaflow tips I have, but they don't have the offset and do not have the correct fit/offset to look proper. I always looked at my current exhaust setup as temp.

Not to threadjack, but I'm currently working on that from a shop standpoint.
