  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I dropped my 2009 w/ tech off at the dealership this morning and they cannot find my issue. It is difficult to explain and fairly subtle but what happens is that when I take off with medium acceleration I feel a vibration through the arm rest at 22 mph. It is worse when I am turning. When I press it hard or when I take off easy It does not happen. Also it does not happen every time so it is hard to troubleshoot. I have 18k miles but it has done it almost from day one. Tires are in good shape and recently road force balanced. I searched here and on the net but cannot find anything. Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Well, I have a very low frequency vibration, normally which starts sometime in the low 40's, (when I first bought the car two years ago), and would 'go away' by the time I hit the 50's. It was a low frequency based upon the 'sound' of the vibration, and it was a rapid vibration as well. As time has gone by, I am able to feel the fibration at higher speeds, and it continues to the low 60's at this point.

Initially I though it was due to cold tires from the OEM stock. I replaced the tires yesterday with Michellins, and it is still there. The Michellins, however, are a nice, more quiet change to the road noise from the previous, OEM stock.

There is a TSB regarding rear hub noise, but not sure whether it applies to your build date. I posted details of this in another thread if you want to look at it, or scan through the TSB's if you have access to them.

Mark, thank you. I will search it out before I head over to Hyundai.

I would believe Marks suggestion is probably the cause. Check the TSB's, and if you can not find one, I can post a pic of the hard copy I received in the mail a few years ago. I have no issues with mine, so I have not wanted the TSB work completed.

2nd, if the TSB isn't the issue, what you have described sounds similar to a bad wheel bearing.....might be something to have the dealer look into, although temp should have nothing to do with a bad wheel bearing. Is this vibration felt on your brake pedal, even if you place your foot on the brake pedal without applying the brakes?
