  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anybody have a solution for this car incredibly not having remote start on the key fob, so people don't have to carry their damn phones with them and dick around with taking off their gloves in 5 degree weather just to have a warm car to get into??? Absolutely shameful for a "luxury" car!!! At least every other Genesis has this basic convenience...

My 2022 G70 key fob does have remote start. What trim is yours?

Um, the 22 G70 I bought Monday has it. You sure your fob doesnt??

How far do key FOBs actually transmit? Can you be in your office on the 3rd floor and start your car that is in a large parking lot? Winters are mild in Texas normally, but summers are a bitch. Starting my G70 from my cubical at work via my phone works fine so it’s nice and cool by the time I walk outside and thru the parking lot. I’m not sure a key FOB will do this? Having both start options I guess is ideal and seems the newer Genesis cars have that ability. I’m stuck using phone only.

I've had aftermarket starters with a fob. I'm qualified to give you an accurate answer: Maybe.
Third floor if you walk to the window will probably work but standing at the elevator, no, probably not.

The problem with using your phone is the reliability of Connected Services. The past week, for me, they have been completely unreliable for started, door locks, send to car. The mirror button has not worked. Too many times I've left the store to have my phone tell me the remote start failed.

You would think over time they would have improved service but it seems to have deteriorated. Not sure I will renew.

Do we know who’s cell system connected services operates on? I know it’s been mentioned before just not sure if it was Verizon or someone else? My wife’s Mazda used a 2G cell system mode that is being discontinued so she has lost cell system mobil start entirely via her phone. This is on a 2018 vehicle and she is not much happy about it. I’ve had occasional signal issue on my G70 and failed connection but not often. I’m good until late next year before I have to decide to renew or not?

I believe it’s Verizon and 3G service is ending 1/22 for Genesis card with that technology.

I don’t think so. Here is what I find:
Verizon has delayed its CDMA 3G network shutdown several times but is now firmly committed to shutting the network down by December 31st, 2022.

Thanks. That’s good for those with older cars. I think I confused it with Volvo when I was looking at a S60. Believe Volvo uses ATT and that is going away at the start of ‘22.

~100ft if the there is a clear line of sight.
Keyfob remote start is available for 2018-2021 G70s in some regions, mine came with that feature.

I am glad to hear that the newer models have it on the Key Fob for my future car. The App is really useless to me and am ready to submit a ticket to see if there is something wrong with my Car receiving it. Half the time i get the servers are not available to authenticate and the rest of the time it will never actually send the request. I want to say the app has worked for me about 15% of the time trying to remote start my car. I am in an area that i know has all major Carriers so not sure what the deal is. On the owners page it only records requests that are successful. Would love to see what my real percentage is.

I installed this on my G70 over the weekend, works great... Hyundai Genesis Remote Starter It only goes up to the 2020 model year for some reason.

Thank you for posting this. I am going to order it and give it a shot. App failed again this morning. Buffalo winters look out. I assume all of the App functionality (When it decides to work) will still work?

Don't order if you have a 2021... Reach out to them if you have to because it may not work for your model year.

Happy Holidays.

Just read your review on this and was quite intrigued. Sounded like it would remedy a lack of expectations.
Miss the fob start and the proximity lock/unlock that I've had with older cars.

Do you (or anybody else) have more good things to say about it?

Also, I read that it was challenging finding a way to squeeze the unit back in so that you could put the panel back in. What was your experience?

Thanks.

I installed the MyKey Premium on my 2021 G70. Uses existing Genesis keyfob. Works like a champ. 30 min job, no cutting wires….. all underneath glove box. did require extra effort to strategically place all harnesses and control box such that the trim piece below glove box would reinstall properly. But very doable. Cannot recommend enough….. the website says up to model year 2020, but works just fine for the 2021. Cannot say enough good things about the quality of the unit, harnesses, connectors, and functionality. And they have a very good video for the G70 install.

I have both the Fob button & phone app on my GMC and the App on phone for the G70. I use the phone app on both vehicles almost everytime as range is infinity vs 200 feet on the GMC. So to each his own, I find the phone app on both the best deal.
