  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Replacement Tire Problems on 3.8

The funny thing is I drove my Sonata for a year before I bought my Genesis. I thought that car was freaking awsome.

But the 2015 Sonata does not suffer from any vibration issues either. I just put 250 miles on the loaner today and had it up to 80 mph on the highway - no tire noise or vibration issues at all. While not as quiet and "smooth" as my Genesis (ignoring the creaking headliner and rattling sunroof that my Genesis has), there were no problems with the Sonata's ride that I'd complain about at all - so I don't think that techs are missing what some are describing as significant issues with Genesis ride because they are used to a Sonata.

Agreed anyone who hasn't driven a 2015 Sonata won't realize the changes the new model brings to the brand. While not quite a Genesis experience the new car benefits greatly from its design philosophy. The new cars use of high strength steel for added rigidity and solid ride is in following with the Genesis design. The car is quiet at speed as stated from the reviews. Indeed there many similarities in the interior as well anybody who has driven one can tell you. It even shares the same navigation system as the non ultimate Genesis. That's some of the reasons I bought one and I'm very pleased with it.

I wasn't denigrating the Sonata or any other Hyundai - I had a 2015 Sonata as one of my loaners. Even stripped, it's a very nice car.

I've had a tech and a service writer drive my car who seemed shocked at the quality of the ride and drive. I think that meant they hadn't driven one lately and wouldn't know what "normal" was, and wouldn't necessarily have recognized problems in the ride or drive of the bigger, heavier car.

I recently had my tire changed to the Michelins. My car no longer rides smooth almost as though a tire is off balance or there is a flat spot. The first time I brought it back to the dealer they found a tire off balance. This helped but still had the vibrations. The second time they rebalanced all the tires, No change. Its back now for the third time and now they are going to get them road forced balanced and well see how that turns out. The dealer test drove my car and agreed that something is wrong. If not I'm going to have to get with Hyundai of America to get it fixed. Three times to the dealer for the same problem is unacceptable to me especially since I brought the car to them fine. I asked not to have the tires changed but they claimed it wasn't an option. Anyone else having problems with theses tires?
YES. Same issues Finally bought new Continentals and not much better. DId all you did before hand. It’s the car
