  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Reported Issues with the Genesis GV60

Artie,
Thank you very much for all your information. FYI Stevens Creek has a new General Service Manager. He has been with Hyundai for 16 years. I met with him today and I showed him your story. He told me he wasn't here when you brought your car in for service and he was specifically moved to the Stevens Creek location to replace the previous manager and bring improved customer response and satisfaction. I was impressed with his attitude so hopefully the kind of service you experienced is a thing of the past at Stevens Creek. Also I was told today that the Genesis portion will be splitting off and moving down the street sometime later this year. Apparently Hyundai doesn't want Genesis combined with Hyundai in the future.
Thanks SaratogaLefty, I appreciate the legwork and dogged investigation...
I'm glad to hear that there is a new (and hopefully more 'Service' minded Service Mgr., and that Genesis will finally be separated from Hyundai. I hope that also happens further north, near me. It would be great to get a stand-alone Genesis dealership / Service Center in the mid-Bay. If it doesn't, and the SJ Genesis dealership / service center becomes the mecca that specializes in these cars and can truly address the issues... I will gladly make the trip. ;)

I'm thinking that if Hyundai is actually serious about separating Genesis completely as a policy going forward then it is just a matter of time until all the dealerships move in the same direction.

We bought ours at Genesis of Palm Springs (CA) and their new building is also already under construction.

Hi Artie/SaratogaLefty - There is a new Genesis dealership in San Bruno, CA. It's located at the Tanforan Shopping Center. I have not been there but the pictures of the dealership look very nice. I believe it's a stand alone Genesis Dealership.

Zedster,
Thank you very much for all the great information. Yeah the range is the only concern we have about the car, but it will be used primarily by my wife for local driving with an occasional short trip (100 miles +/-). I'm thinking if we do a longer trip we will want to stop after two hours anyway so that would be no more than 150-175 miles so assuming we leave with a full charge should have plenty of miles left to find a working charging station. I guess now that Tesla is opening up their SuperChargers in a worst case we could always stop at one of those.
Honestly, that's my wife's favorite added benefit! She loves that she doesn't have to ask me for bathroom breaks as we're driving anymore, as I'm the kind of person that would drive until I'm almost out of gas during a road trip because I've forgotten that bathroom breaks are a thing... and now we don't need to get into arguments about how we're out in the middle of nowhere and she didn't tell me that she needed a bathroom break since an hour ago lmao

Same here... wife, dog and I can use a break after a couple hours of sitting still. So long as (1) the chargers work, and (2) charging doesn't take forever, it's really not an issue.

Stopping for 20 minutes every three hours is not a problem.
I‘ve found that I can make charging time productive with a laptop and iPad. Even if I take a few minutes to catch up on whatever TV series I may be watching.

Had this warning appear in the driver's screen - "Check limited slip differential".
Notified Genesis Australia on January 13th. Still waiting for a meaningful response as to what they are doing about it.
Genesis here in Australia is appalling with their after sales backup.

I had the exact same problem.
They told me that a part had to be replaced. They reassured me I could drive with that safely until the the part came from Korea which took two months.

I have a GV60 Performance , and every time when I go over a bump, there is a "ding-ding" sound coming from the back of the car. At first I think there is some metal contacting metal under the back cover (in the trunk) but there is nothing, and I cannot find any metal object that is close together that they will hit each other when the car go over the bump. Does anyone in this group know anything about this? Thank you.

Did you look under the rear cover? There are some tire tools back there that could be knocking around.

My seat heater button sticks.

But it only happens when it's cold! (lol)

Yes, I have checked under the rear cover, taken every thing out, but still have the ding ding sound when the car go over the bump.

I bought my car from Stevens Creek, at MSRP no markup in November, had issues in scheduling service with both Dublin and Stevens Creek. But if you call Genesis Concierge you will get appointment sooner. I have scheduled charging many times and it works, for the past few months weather has not been great and also I drive very hard, never focused on efficiency. I get the range any where from 200-230 based on the weather (I have Performance edition)

Did they still have the mandatory theft protection rip-off in November? In October they required buying some theft protection package for $800 which included putting stickers all over your car and some extra theft insurance. They gave up on the mark-up, but they insisted that you buy this.

I use voice commands to turn on the heater when this happens.

It's easy to unstick.

Never thought about using voice commands.
