  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Reported Issues with the Genesis GV60

Yep...you can even set the level too.

Cool. I will have to try it.

I don't use Alexa. Or I didn't...just got a Lucid & could not get the Homelink connected to the garage door opener. Went through some pain to get they MyQ opener working with Alexa (no native support). Now I am using Alexa to open the garage.

At some point please do a comparison between the Lucid and Genesis. Thanks.

Okay, I am going to officially say that my GV60 has charging issues.

After watching my new Lucid happily draw maximum amps (48, but it was drawing a bit more at times) from my Lectron V-box for over five hours, I think I can blame the GV60 and not the V-box. I think the Lucid will draw up to 80 amps, but the V-box is limited to 48.

The GV60 will stop charging after while when set to "Maximum" (48 amps) in the car controls. It says charging stopped because the cable was disconnected.

I set it to "Normal" (I think that's what it's called) and it drops to 40 or so amps. Same problem.

I set it to "Minimum" and it drops to 30 amp draw and then no problems.

I don't know what to do about it though. It's not a problem for me as I have all night to charge. I can see it having an issue at 48 amps, but it should not have a problem at 40.

Yep, the Ioniq5 and EV6 have air deflecting slots on the roofline spoilers, without that trick one will need to RainX monthly.
Look up Duxback, can last for a year, water beads well and flies off windshield without wipers over 20-30 mph. Same kinda stuff they use on airplane windows.

I have the Chargepoint EVSE on a 50 amp line so I am getting 40 amps continuous. I had always set the car for 80% and it reliably charged to 80% and stopped. Two days ago I set it to 100% just to balance out the batteries and it charged to 100%.

I have now set it back to 80%. I am not currently on a time of use plan so I haven't tried setting a timer.

Identical, except for the type of charger.
We bought our Enel X years ago for a different EV. Works perfectly at exactly those specs (50A line, 40A charger) for both our Kona Limited EV and the GV60.
And also for the limits. Most times 80%, every month or two 100%.
But I have both EV's set for Off-Peak only. Midnight - 3 PM.
No issues.

My friend has an Ionic 5 and has the same issue. Hyundai replaced his charge port last week and he can now charge on the Maximum setting again. We could wait for a recall or just push the dealer to replace it as this seems to the solution to the problem. I too have the same issue and have mine set to the medium setting or whatever the correct name is. So it charges fine on the setting and I went from 11.2 kw/h to 10.2 kw/h but that is a negligible difference for me. Once a Genesis EV dealership opens in Ohio, I will have it looked at but will wait for now unless it gets worse.

Anyone else having a blue screen pop up in the screen next to the speedo when you turn on your signal? It pops up when I use my signal to change lanes, either left or right. It happened to me on one day, 3/18/23. I have not seen it since. It also returned on the same day after numerous drive cycles.

I remember a while back some folks were reporting having trouble with their fingerprint reader when first entering the car, where it wouldn't register a blue light until 5-10 seconds after entry.

I always use this method but never really looked down until a random occurrence last week. I noticed that I also get yellow for unrecognized scan but it was actually a successful swipe; since it's a force of habit, I got yellow and had already reached for the start button and it went through just fine! This happens until the dash fully boots up.

This has happened twice now, so I'll add it:

The HUD was displaying the radio icon. Just the icon, none of the "usual" info, like the car icon, speed, lane recognition status, etc.

It stayed that way regardless of what I did (tried changing to music from Carplay...radio icon stayed).

It was back to normal next time I drove the car.

Just recently started having issues with the app not allowing me to change the preset charging percentage limits. Stuck on 90% for both AC/DC charging levels. I can change them, leave that screen and then return and they are back to 90%. No matter what I do, no other percentage level sticks. Anyone else suffering the same thing?

That happened to me. Changed the station, it only showed that and never brought the rest of the information icons back.
I de-selected the radio - media display option. I didn't want to chance it happening again.

I may have seen the same YouTube reviews you mentioned on the charging, however some more recent ones indicated that there is now pre-conditioning functionality. IIRC, the GV60 material specifically mentioned pre-conditioning.
Hi I am new and have a genesis gv60. What is pre conditioning?

Pre-conditioning is a process in which the car sends energy to the battery in order to warm it. A warm battery chargers faster and more efficiently than a cold one. In the GV60, pre-conditioning occurs when you designate a DC fast charger location as your destination. This feature works for me but I wish it were able to be turned on manually.

Hi there, thank you. But it doesn't give you any more capacity/range? I've done 14000 miles in my GV60 since November, but im having a few technical issues. DC charging with the heavier cable means it pulls the connection down and causes a disconnect. I have to hold it in until it starts charging and then locks into place.

Sounds like a trip to the dealership for a replacement is in order. That should not be happening.

That problem is more common than you'd think. I've seen several youtubers recommend holding the cable until it locks across many different EVs, not just this model car. I think it has to do with the connectors from the chargers themselves wearing and how there are a lot of people that don't carefully put them back in the holster. I've seen some of them on the ground when I use EA! Incredible.

Well that’s rather poor, considering we’ve only just begun this crazy new way to stay mobile.

Today I tried EVGO for the first time vs. the free EA. Impressions 1) Chargers were working unlike the EA chargers in the same strip mall (3 out of 4 were off line). 2) No waiting at the EVGO charges (maybe because you have to pay for it vs the free EA we receive). 3) Cable/connector felt lighter and not as stiff as the EA equipment. 4) Charging was seamless with no issues connecting. I mention this as the prior 3 times I had tried to charge at EA there was always an issue and I had to call EA for assistance. 5) After my first charge at EVGO, the next time I use one of their stations it's supposed to be plug and play, without the need for the app.
I do 90% of my charging at home, but if I have to AC charge I do not mind paying for it if it means it saves me time and I can get in and out without any issues.
