Road trip yesterday made my day, month, and year!!!!!

So I went with a buddy of mine to the North Shore in Duluth yesterday, about 2 hours north of where I live. We had a great time cruising around Canal Park right next to lake Superior where all the shops, restaurants, and bars are. I've never been disappointed with seeing cool cars there, since I've seen a Ferrarri F430 there, and a Bentley etc.

We were having a beer on the upper level deck of a bar and I looked below and saw a white Lamborghini Murcielago the exact same one pictured here (at the bottom I guess):

and I almost passed out! I was pumped up after seeing it, but soon forgot about it. After leaving the bar we cruised around in the Genesis and I ended up right behind a Lotus Exige S (supercharged) and was again, very excited I didn't notice, but my friend said the Lotus driver looked over at us when we were next to him slowly passing him and the dude checked out the car and gave a thumbs up

We ended up driving over the lift bridge and as I was coming off the bridge, my friend said, "there it is again!" I didn't know what the hell was going on until I looked up and saw the beautiful white machine coming at me as I was coming off the bridge I quickly threw the car in Neutral and gave her a throttle blip as we went by each other and the magnaflows projected the 4.6 sound perfectly, and than I quickly turned off the stereo and I looked in my rearview mirror and my friend turned to look out the back and the Lambo driver responded with an insane high rev V12 soundtrack that gave me goosebumps and both of us went nuts after the driver responded with his engine


On our way driving back to the twin cities that's all we could think about for the first 45 minutes.

BTW, 29.4 MPG for the trip average. Not as good as my Red Wing trip doing 30.2, but still good.

29.4! 30.2! Thats even better than what I got on my two trips. (To Phoenix and back 27.5 - To Rochester and back 28.0) Well, I may have been going faster than you <grin>.

As for Duluth, I remember years ago, I went from Western NY to Brainerd MN, in the month of August. It was a beautiful warm day, until I got to Duluth /Superior. Man it was cold in those twin cities. Once I got back inland a bit, it warmed up. BTW, did you eat any "Pasties"?

Sunday; south of Austin to east fo Dallas at 75 MPH; 245 miles; 27.6 MPG average. Super satisfied owner and driver.

Say what they will about the suspension, I have never been less fatigued at the completion of a comparable trip in any previous vehicle.

Those are some incredible fuel economy coming from a V8! I can barely hit 26mpg on my 1999 V6 Maxima!

Well I'm not sure what pasties are, but on another note, Duluth is usually 20 cooler than the suburbs or cities. Of course I have been there when it's been 95 degrees and when your taking a tour of the 1100" ship a shore at 130 degrees inside, you're ready for a beer or water

In the UP of MI, Northern Wisconsin and Northern MN, I used to see signs on the edge of the road saying "Pasties Ahead". WTF? At first I thought there would be "Dancing Girls" but soon learned that it is NOT pronounced Paist-ies, but Past-ies, and it is a food of various meats, potatos, veggies, all served in a pocket style bread. Very heavy and very filling. Also very good. Served all over the Northern parts of those states. Was told that back in the 1930's, it was considered a poor mans meal.

Wow, sounds darn good to me I asked a couple of friends and family members if they have heard of these, and no one I asked has heard of them. I'm assuming if I lived up north in BFE I would.
