  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Very distinguishable. They might grow on me.

Certainly cheaper that buying new wheels. Very ingenious.

I don't dislike them. Though not my particular taste I bet others will really like them. The outside of the rim look gone in the photo. I may have left a band around it and I think I'd like it a lot more. Just went back to look again, they are growing on me.

Ed, they are new rims. He is installing the rear ones tomorrow.

You sure? I think both Ed and I read it as having had two of them painted -- blacking out the five straight bars. It's a really striking difference, but I think it's the same metal. (I'm entirely open to being wrong about that)

My bad. I think you are correct. :sorry:

Ed, Four, Larry..
Both rims are OEM. The front I painted to make it look different. The back I am painting tmrrw. Thanks for the comments!

Looking for an updated pic with all 4 rims reworked.

Looks pretty nice actually. My fear with DIY stuff like this is how well will the paint hold up with the heat, cold, washings, rocks, etc. I'd hate for it to chip off in a short time, could make wheels look really trashy.

My mind reading skills are a little weak. How was I to know he posted in a different thread than the one he initiated?
Ram20 how about it?

I used Plasti-dip black and glossifier..I'm thinking they may not hold long at one of the edges but will have to keep an eye on them..on my last car, they lasted for a couple yrs.

Ram20, thanks for posting a pic of the completed job. It gives a better representation than just 2 wheels. I hope it holds up with wear & tear.

I don't hate them. I'm on the fence on if I like them better than OEM though. They actually make the car sort of look like a Kia Optima to me lol.

Yeah I see that now...all good! I like it!

They look good! Now ditch them and put an aggressive set of of staggered 20's on it! (j/k!)

I usually don't like straying far from the factory look when it comes to cars, but have to say those are pretty cool.
