Short Video of Magnaflow CBE on 2012 4.6L

As some of you are aware, I had previously installed the RSpec Magnaflow cat back exhaust on my 2012 3.8L with minor modification. When I traded in the V6 and got the last year version of the 4.6L, naturally I wanted to move the exhaust and cat deletes over to it.

Anyways, here's a quick comparison of the 2012 V6 sound to the 2012 V8 sound running the exact same exhausts. Pretty neat to hear the sound differences. Both sound awesome in their own right, imo. Sorry I didn't get a video of the V6 before installing the deletes.

I was thinking of getting the secondary cat deletes as well. I only changed the mufflers on my 5.0 but want to keep the midpipe with stock resonator so less drone. Where did you get the Cat deletes from?

Well, my Magnaflow drones to begin with and there was no noticeable change one way or the other with the deletes installed.

MSA is the only company that makes cat deletes for the Genesis Sedan; however, there website is garbage right now. I actually bought mine from a member on this site used for half the price. If you're going to buy from MSA, I recommend calling them up. Their website is not secure at the moment.

The cat deletes definitely change the sound as the exhaust note was almost too quiet with OEM cats and my Dynomax VT's while with cat deletes its just right. I've seen a few dynos showing small gains (10whp or so) so there is a slight power bump but you won't notice it with the butt dyno. I'd say between cat deletes, aftermarket mufflers and a cold air intake there are meaningful gains to be made and an ECU tune down the line will make it even better. In terms of noise/volume, my car with the VT's, cat deletes and r2c intake is significantly louder than stock under throttle.

The dyno I saw for the 5.0 showed an 8% increase in power with an older design, unshielded intake (ABEL) and MSA cat deletes. These gains were definitely towards the upper end of the RPM limit, but not confined to only the last 500rpms that you see with some performance parts. So these gains would be something that improve day to day driving power.

I would imagine that with the superior design of the R2C intake, cat deletes and a good CBE you're looking at around a 10% or so increase in power over stock. This is usually the traditional threshold of being able to "feel" the difference in power.
