Show me your coolest wheels on your Genesis sedan

Hello everyone...I am a new owner of a 2009 sterling blue genesis premium plus package...Been thinking of what it would look like will nicer rims....It seems the coupes have a little bit sportier rims...can they fit on the sedans? I would love to see pics of what you have or aftermarket rims for suggestions...I think a cragar look would be really nice. Show me what you got!!

10-12 Coupe wheels should fit a 3.8, 4.6s and 5.0s will have to run two sets of rear Coupe wheels to clear the four piston front caliper.

13+ Coupe wheels have more spoke clearance and will clear all trim levels.

Nice rims.....I like the LS01's.....aggressive looking but very versatile, and I agree about how different they look in the light...must be very nice at night..........this is a great start but I know there has got to be more 3.8 owners with killer mags!.....come on now

There are only 3 other BH Genesis Sedans that I know of running custom 3 piece wheels. 2 are VIP modular, the other one is AME. Hate to say it but not much to see stateside, I imagine Korea is a different story though.

Appreciate it man. Been looking forward to seeing what this forum has to say about my setup. Some will love it others will hate it. Might be too low and aggressive for the majority of members on this forum.

Being new here, there's a culture of "refinement" I'm sensing that will automatically disregard individual choices that "ruin the car". That's fine, but "wing badges and call it a day" is far too tame for many.

I dig em, but I like high end wheels, bags, performance...hell, many facets of automotive enthusiast culture.

It has to do with the market for this car. The vast majority of owners are too conservative and simply don't understand because they bought a big comfy sedan which tends to appeal to a boring owner base. When I had my Genesis Coupe and regularly browsed the Genesis Coupe forums it was very common to see heavily modified vehicles. I'm not generally into body kits and heavy body mods (outside of a clean wide body) but all of my cars eventually get a drop and aftermarket wheels (no chrome!). It's pretty much mandatory.

Agreed, and I do appreciate the market for this car, especially coming from the same last car as you.
I'm not sure what my plans are yet, but I'm sure I'll offend someone's sensibilities over something. Just LEDs and a debadge thus far, but it's only week 2.

One would need to very, very cautious driving a Genesis lowered like that in pothole riddled and torn up streets in this area (northern Virginia, DC and MD suburbs). Even the interstates and US highways in this area are so pothole riddled and torn up that avoiding the holes and rough pavement means driving like one is in a slalom event.

Conversely, one could claim that the vase majority of owners of "small, jittery, coupes" that lower them, put on coffee can exhausts, and cartoon wheels are too immature and don't understand.

Not sure how you came to the conclusion that you "understand" and are "exciting".

^^ boring owner alert!! I kid, I kid.

Some of it comes down to people's priorities as they get older. I don't think it has anything to do with people being more or less mature when we're dealing with most people on this forum (with the exception of a few). I'll be having a kid soon and I'm sure my priorities will start to shift (say it isn't so) away from things like my car and video games. Older members on this forum may have "been there, done that" with lowering or adding a loud exhaust. They have an appreciation for it, but don't want to deal with the hassle at this point in their lives.

There's always a segment of every car's owner "base" that won't be into modding or getting more power compared to the stock vehicle because they just have no interest in being that kind of enthusiast. Those people come in both young and old form and yes they are boring . My 55 y/o father couldn't car less about modding his appliance, err I mean Sonata. My 80 y/o grandfather threw a performance exhaust on his near mint condition BMW Z3. It sounds awesome.

I came to the conclusion that many owners don't understand the modification scene because their comments on this forum indicates as such. It's not specific to wheels either as you can read various threads here on wheels, suspension, engine mods, etc and find someone who just doesn't get it with comments like "Why did you buy a grandpa car and decide to turn it into a sports car, etc". I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that as the vast majority of car owners in general (regardless of the vehicle) don't understand the appeal of the enthusiast scene. They just want to buy the car and leave it alone or do very basic mods (badges, license plate frames, etc).

It's also important to note that although I like all kinds of modded cars, I don't necessarily like all modifications even when they are of the same type. With wheels for example, I believe that a 20" wheel is an ideal size for this car with anything larger looking strange (not too big on chrome either but I like polished metals). When it comes to exhaust, I prefer quad tips or OEM style dual outlets as coffee can style mufflers aren't to my liking. With body mods I prefer to stay fairly stock outside of lighting elements and maybe a lip kit (not too fond of overly aggressive aftermarket bumpers, etc). When it comes to suspension I like a lowered look where the fender is sitting right above the tire but I hate the current "Stance" fad which encourages overly stretched tires, super low suspension and ridiculous wheel camber.

It's tough to paint an accurate picture of a persons tastes from a single opinion on one set of wheels so for all I know maybe you're aware of the scene and have your own preferences which is great but this forum (compared to vehicles with a larger enthusiast following) does have many members who don't understand the scene and don't look at modifications in a fond manner. I don't mean to be derogatory, its just the state of the community at this time. This will change over time as more of these cars reach the used market and are out of warranty.

All good points.....But can we not hijack my thread with personal opinions....I just asked to see some nice rims gentlemen....not open a debate on what is considered asthetic or theme appropriated...lol...Now how bout those pics???
