If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Side view mirrors holding their position

I have been having a problem with my side view mirrors holding their set position. While this situation is not constant, it does occur frequently enough to be bothersome. I set the position for my side view mirrors while in "park," and then hit the set button and position #1. The mirrors will stay in place for a few drives , but at some point they go to a slightly different position when I start the car again. I don't think it has to do with the way I am sitting. I am consistent and I do not change the position of the driver's seat. I am the only driver, so no one else is fooling with it. Does anyone else have this issue? H=Does anyone have a suggestion on how to just set it and go? Thank you.

I have also have had this happen on my 2015 multiple times. It only seems to be the driver side mirror, and is always angled down a little bit.

I also have noted this problem. It was worse during the winter months, but it has happened occasionally at other times. I'm sure it is related to the folding mirror feature and sometimes they just don't return to the correct position when they deploy. On my car it happens to both mirrors and it always sets the mirrors to a more down angle.

I believe it may have something to do with the auto angle down feature in reverse. I suspect what's happening is when you reverse, the mirrors are automatically angled down a bit, if you finish your reverse and quickly go to park and power off the car the mirror does not finish it's return to it's original position and is now aimed a bit low.

I thought this as well, but I am only experiencing this with my driver side mirror. Passenger side is always in the correct position.

I have been experiencing this issue since I purchased the car. Never realized that it had to do with the mirror itself not with my seating position until I read this post.

Don't know much about the 2015's but in my first gen the auto down in reverse only works when the mirror adjustment switch is in the left or right position. If it is in the center they do not auto down (which seems to be completely backwards from how it should work). Wonder if it has something to do with the position of this switch?

First gens had a TSB then recall on the steering wheel tilt switch which I believe was also causing odd seat/mirror setting behavior.

OK. So Im not going mad. This has been happening since day one for me. When I talked to the dealer about it on my last oil change, they said thats how it supposed to work. BS! Im going to keep taking it to them and force them to fix it. My 10k car has this working, why cant this 50k+ have it working?

EDIT: Ill report back what they say or what they do. Unfortunately I have prior experience with cars that have weird issues that cant be resolved. So hoping this isnt one of them. I had a Z28 that had to be lemon law'd due to something like this. They pretty much replaced the whole car, new engine, tranny, etc, and stil couldnt figure out why it kept having the issues it did. I do not want to go through that again. I love this car.

I've had this exact same problem since day one and reported it to my service manager. He supposedly alerted corporate office. My driver side mirror slowly tilts downward over time. Pushing the memory button I use for my settings immediately moves it back to the correct position.

I'd done the same once or twice, until once the seat memory lost it's memory and tried to move the seat to fit a *much* smaller person than me! Uhgg! ;-)

I would just keep reporting it. Keep a log. This is a serious issue. Can cause an accident.

So took it to dealer this Fri and they said they couldnt reproduce the issue. I believe it has to do with driving over time. My drive to work is not the smoothest (I live in Cali, roads suck) so my guess is that over the bumps of my daily 75 miles daily, it lowers them. I can daily get my mirrors to lose settings to and from work.

Has anyone been able to get a dealership to find a fix for this? This is starting to make me hate this car. I shouldnt have to remember each morning to hit the memory button to make sure my mirrors are set correctly.

According to my dealer (and it has worked so far), if you "neutralize" the side view mirror adjustments, the mirrors will not angle down when you go into reverse. You "neutralize" the mirrors by hitting the left and the right mirror adjustment buttons so the light that indicates which mirror you want to adjust is OFF.

But I want my mirrors to angle down when reversing. Its a feature that the car I bought had or wouldnt have bought.

Then I am not sure what your issue is. Cujrrently, the mirrors will/should angle down when the car is put in reverse. Is that what yu want?

The issue is after driving, they lose their settings. Meaning, they keep going lower and lower after time. So lets say after you hit your saved settings, after driving for an uncertain amount of time, your settings of the mirrors are not the same, as they have started to go lower. Only way to get them back is by hitting the saved setting again.

Turning off the auto tilt down on reverse did NOT fix the problem for me. It does take several days of driving for the problem to appear.

I just tested going over a known bumpy road near my work. Was able to reproduce it. It has to do with getting loosened up. The drive was only about 5 miles round trip and maybe 300-400 yards of bumpy.
