  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Side view mirrors holding their position

I care less about the mirror moving and more about how I feel validated that I'm not alone or crazy. Give me a minute or two to get mad that I have a problem with my baby.

I've had this exact same problem since day one and reported it to my service manager. He supposefdly alerted corporate office. My driver side mirror slowly tilts downward over time. Pushing the memory button I use for my settings immediately moves it back to the correct position.

"He supposedly alerted corporate office."

Hahaha. That's rich!

I called back my dealership to let them know I believe I found what the issue is. Vibration from driving. All weekend, I would set mirrors and then drive. Once I got to destination, I hit the memory button and what do you know, it had been lowered once again. I hope they can fix this...if not, my next thing is contacting BBB and corp. This is a serious driving hazard, and seems Im not the only one having this issue.

Some updates....dealership was no help...even after I told them how to reproduce it and showed them it, they said they checked all connections and what not and all showed fine, so thats all they would do. They said to reach out to Corp if I wanted more support. I contacted Hyundai via twitter and have been in contact with them. Im hoping they can help get this resolved for all of us having this issue. I will continue to update this as I get more info.

Thanks for the update! I am holding no hope that Hyundai will fix this issue. Its a programming issue.

Then the car is a lemon IMO. I love this car...really do. Drive over 100 miles a day and makes it so nice...but if it cannot fix a simple issue like this, this car is defective. Its not only a security issue, but must be a known issue that they just tried to sweep under the rug.

I have a host of programming/software problems that "can't be replicated by the dealer". It's more that it "can't be acknowledged by the dealer/HMA"

The mirror is the tip of the ice berg for me. There is also the seat moving to wherever it wants. The steering wheel continues to drop lower and lower until I correct it. The back-up cam occasionally goes black (and never happens at the dealer) and the front parking sensor has a short on rainy nights. But other than that, this car is flawless :D

WOW. Id have hired a lawyer a long time ago if I had all those problems. I can recreate the mirrors titling by driving to my house with a tech (though they said it wasnt necessary and I believe my dealership is a crock), so Im keeping my hopes up that with me reaching out to corp, they can get this resolved.

They finally contacted me via phone after contacting them on twitter. They said the dealership logged no such complaints (no surprise to me as they dont seem the brightest, but they are very friendly) so luckily I had the paperwork in my car from the last visit and scanned it over to them. I am awaiting a call back to see what will happen next since Ive already gone to the location 3 times.

I suggest you contact them via twitter too so you can get your issues looked into as well.

Will keep updating as things progress.

Man, it just isnt worth my time in all honesty. But I commend you going through all of these hoops!

I hear ya. Luckily its my down season for work so I have some time to take and try and get it fixed. Hoping they can get this fixed and then push a fix out to all dealerships so you and others can get it resolved easily.

Hyundai is flying out a tech to look into my car next Wed. Fingers crossed it can be fixed.

So after about 3 days, and about 2 days of testing, it seems it has been resolved. They replaced the whole motor for the mirror. On my way home, Ill be testing the other mirror since I had issues with that one as well. I asked corp why wasnt the motor just replaced since I showed them video and links just like I did for you and they said, if they cant replicate it themselves, then they dont usually replace. Really stupid that the customer has to contact corp to get an issue resolved themselves, but I hope this is the last issue I have to contact them for. Back to loving this car 100%.

Interesting. Let us know how it goes and if it is truly fixed

Drove another 100 miles and all is working as it should. So happy. Hopefully your car is still under warranty and you can take it in to get this resolved too. And for others having this issue.

Mine is indeed. Like I said, I just dont have the time to fight for it. The car is only going to last me another 100k or so anyway lolol

You shouldnt have to fight for it. If you want, PM me and I can give you more details on who to contact and my case details so the dealership can reference it so when its a quick trip for ya.

So the issue came back and the agent I was working with is no longer with the company. I had to start all over and awaiting to hear back from corporate.

After them replacing the whole module, this makes me believe your theory of it being a SW issue. What I dont understand is why others dont have this issue or is everyone just not paying attention like we are?

I believe everyone is having this isuue and it just isnt a huge one that people notice. I also think people are blissfully unaware of this feature on their cars since its nothing but a sentence in the owners manual like "oh by the way, your mirrors can tilt based on how you have them set" lol
