  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So.. is this why 2016 Genesis aren't at the dealer lots?

G80 could simply be a rebadge of the 2016 G2, maybe some tweaks to the options packages. It's that good.

It most likely will be, but the resale value on the Hyundai Genesis will be hit hard when it looks like Hyundai Genesis was discontinued and Genesis G80 will be started.

That said, if you are planning to drive your car until it dies, right now is a great time to get in on a great deal on the Hyundai Genesis.

Best time to buy a 2015 or 2016 Genesis will be this summer when G80 is actually available.

You never know when a company can/will surprise everyone. Look at Toyota with the new Camry. It was completely restyled way ahead of schedule. I wouldn't be TOO surprised if the Genesis G80 receives it's mid-cycle refresh a year early...

I saw a 2016 Camry yesterday in a parking lot, and it looks a lot better than the 2015. It needed a change rather badly.

Except Korea usually gets things about 4-6 months ahead and we have only seen the G80 undergoing testing in cladding.

Anyhow, Hyundai sold about 25k of the Genesis sedan in the US for 2015 - making it the 3rd best selling within the segment behind the BMW and MB offerings.

Luxury sedan sales continue to be poached by crossover sales (Lexus sells more CUVs/SUVs than they do sedans); also easier for less established luxury marques to compete in the CUV/SUV segments than for luxury sedans, so the Genesis crossovers will be key (Hyundai should think about adding a 3rd CUV to their planned lineup).

I think you're right but consider the possibility that THIS (Genesis Motors's G80) is something Hyundai really wants to keep under wraps...

If they want to keep it under wraps, doesn't that suggest that there are some exterior changes?

I'm thinking the midcycle refresh will be ready for the 2017 Genesis G80.

Then why show a rebadged 2016 as a G80 at the Detroit Show? Seems strange - they are sending mixed messages by displaying that car there.

Why? To throw their competitors off balance...

Maybe there is hope that we will get Android Auto and CarPlay based on the G80 remaining relatively the same. Can't imagine they can release it for Sonanta's but not the Genesis/G80.

I would be greatly surprised if "Genesis Motors" brings the world their midsize premium luxury sedan that's supposed to disrupt the industry 'without' Android Auto and Car Play...

Don't see either mentioned as being available in the G90 yet either?

Am just guessing here, but take the Lease option while the residuals are high....

It would be a mistake to launch without these options when the Hyundai Sonata has them.
