  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So what kind of pricing did you guys/gals get?

Check edmunds again as there is $1200 dealer money for 4.6 Tech. And I suppose no one paying more than invoice these days when the un-employment rates shooting to the record high. So, a normal deal will look like invoice - $1200 plus whatever you can hammering down

Don't know if there is such a thing as a "normal deal." Too many factors come into play. Seems to me it boils down to what's going on in the market when you are ready to take the plunge; how badly the dealer wants to move the cars on his lot (which he is paying interest on); any incentives from the factory that I mentioned in my original post; whether you are paying cash or financing, and if so, with who; what you are trading in if a trade will be part of the deal and, I'm sure, some other factors I missed that will result in the bottom line price. So what is a "normal deal?"

Not sure what you mean by "dealer money" for a 4.6/Tech. If that's a factory rebate or incentive to the dealer, I don't think it was in effect when I bought mine because I spent hours and hours searching Edmunds, Kelley Blue Book, Consumer Reports and other sources before I bought. I do know that Hyundai was not offering any customer incentives on the Genesis when I made my purchase.

Whatever the case, I was happy to pay $500 over invoice for the car in my area because it hasn't been as negatively affected by the bum economy as other parts of the country. And it won't matter to me in the slightest if someone posts a message that he or she went to the same dealer and bought the same car at invoice or below. I fell into that trap once nearly 30 years ago and it took the shine off my then-new 1980 Buick Regal Turbo, which, by the way, turned out to be my biggest car-buying mistake of the 19 cars I have owned since my first set of new wheels back in 1960. But factory turbos were relatively new back in 1980, and I had to have the latest and greatest back then. Funny how history seems to have repeated itself here in 2009 with my purchase of a Genesis, eh?

Enjoy her.. priceless. Everyone see pricing a little bit different. Like when we purchased our 335xi last spring for 1k over invoice. One dealer not even talked to me and send me to the door straight, another one just happy to get the order in and build the car for us and still provide the best services possible you can get from a dealer.

Question: where on the Edmunds site do you find the details of the $1200 dealer money on the 4.6 Tech? I've looked extensively and cannot seem to find, although their TMV price would seem to reflect some sort of incentive...

The only offers I see on Edmunds are for leases. Looks like there is $1250 available from Hyundai Financing for what they call origination support.

Moose...where do you find this info? I've looked on the Hyundai Motor Finance website and don't see it there. Should I be looking somewhere else?

I purchased my 3.8L V6 Tech on 1/1/09 for $36,500. Which included wheel locks, trunk liner, and iPod cable.

When you go to edmunds.com, click on the New Cars button/selection option near to top left of the the page under the edmunds.com logo. You will then be sent to the New Cars page. On the second row of selection options at the top, you will see Incentives & Rebates. Once you click that, it will take you to a page where you can select Hyundai, near the middle of the page. Once you click that, it will list all available rebates and incentives by model. You will need to enter your zip code at the top of the page as these rebates and incentives are sometimes regionally controlled. You should see cash and leases beside the Genesis.

Hope that helps.

Got my 4.6L with tech package, trunk liner, wheel locks & ipod cable for $37,750 ($39k - $1,250 27mo lease rebate) on 2/20/2009.

I leased for 27 mos. Negotiated the price down to $37,750 including the rebate and put $5k down, of which roughly $3k went to cap cost reduction.

My monthly payments are $463.

Hope this helps someone else in negotiating.

BTW, this vehicle is worth every penny! :)

For what its worth when leasing. I am an insurance agent here is CT . I have leased many vehicles. Strongly consider not putting any down payment. Your monthly lease payment will be higher, however, if you total out your car, the insurance company will only pay what you owe to the bank. You will not get back any down payment. If you put as little as $1,000 or $5,000 or more down, that money is lost. No one tells you this, but its worth knowing before you decide to pay that down pay. I always tell the dealer to figure my lease on $0 down.

crazy eddies's - you're dating yourself - but you are correct:p

(This is my first post) I just signed a lease on the V8 Tech for 36-months. The lease base price was $39,241...I'm paying only the 1st month and bank fee. ($574 per month) The dealer is paying for the registration (4-years in NJ), tinting all 5-windows and striping. He is also removing all Hyundai markings and installing the front and rear emblems. The deal changed in March....was the same for 27-months. It's not a special deal and he has more at that price.

I'm very intrigued by some of the great pricing quoted on this thread. In the Huntville, AL area where I reside, all the 4.6s are spoken for before they even hit the lot. Consequently, all of them are going for MSRP (haven't heard of any mark-ups above that).

Having said that, I may just wait until I hear more about the '10 to see what they are going to do with the suspension (if anything) and what new features they are going to add.

#33...what are the Hyundai markings which are being removed?

I apologize for my "newbie" question, but I searched and couldn't find a decent answer- so here it goes:

Purchase or Lease a 3.8 Genesis Sedan Base model:

Purchase:
Negotiated price: $29,500 (includes military discount)
taxes: $1,775.94
Govt fees: $274
Dealer fee: $99
Amt financed: $31,648.94
$3942.06 down payment
5.5% over 60 months: $529/month to buy

or

36 month Lease:
Negotiated price: $29,500 (includes military discount)
taxes: $1,775.94
Govt fees: $274
Initial Payment: $2,918.06 (includes Hyundai's $1000 rebate + first payment)
Residual: $16,219 (***seems low??***)
max mileage: 12,000 miles per year
monthly payment: $418.06/month to lease

I have never leased before. Is this a good lease deal?
Which is the best option?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

$31500? Wow that's a smokin deal!!

I paid 38,100 for the 4.6 with the tech package and all the accessories (iPod connector, cargo net, etc).

NEVER EVER look at that little side sticker.

I was on the lot just looking, no intentions of buying.

I had a 2004 E320 4matic Mercedes with 90K miles I bought in Jan. For $14K (I bought it right)

The Genesis was $36,130 with the Premium plus package(factory sticker), it also had all the winged emblems and the stainless pillar and window trim. (they had one of those little stickers, that I did'nt pay attention too)

The dealer discounted the Genesis to $31,400 and then gave me $18K for my Mercedes trade.

I paid my Benz and $15K Out the Door (5yr tag in DE)
