  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just realized that my car came without the spare wheel in the trunk!

I want to ask for it but the problem is that the dealer I purchased the car from is 170miles away from where I live... Is it worth driving up there?? What should I do?

Also, is spare wheel in the trunk same as the ones mounted on the car? (I have 09 PREMIUM PKG) It would be wonderful if someone can post pic of their spare wheel in the trunk. Thanks in advance,

-James

Nobody? Could anyone check and just let me know if the spare wheel is a black steelies?? Help me out guys..

If I bought a car that was expected to have a spare and it didn't, the distance to the dealer couldn't stop me from going back to get it.

You don't say if you've been driving without one since '09 or you just bought a used '09. Either way, doesn't the OM describe the missing wheel to you?

Here's the details... appears to be an alloy 17" wheel... even tho my car has the 18's all around.

Removing the foam tray reveals this...

Releasing it from the anchoring bolt....

Thanks for the reply, and yes, I just bought used 09. It was missing OM so I requested and he said he'll mail it out (I knew there is online version here but I agreed, although I doubt he'll do it).

Wow, spare wheel looks nice!, well, I need to go and get it it seems! I was thinking it might be a crappy steelie but it obviously ain't. whew.. 5 hours round trip awaits....

Thanks a lot guys, I really appreciate it

Hmaservice.com also has OMs, TSBs and other info. Registration is free.

Consider having it shipped to your door... customer service... would be approx. $25 - $35... unless you want another reason to take your Genny on another road trip.

Hopefully your dealer is on the up and up. I could see them giving you a hard time thinking your are trying to pull a fast one. Did you sign one of those 'We Owe' forms that says they owe you nothing other than what you left with? Just asking. Good luck!

Oh my gosh.. I did sign that "we owe" form with nothing written...

First time buying a car from dealer.. I guess because of my mistake they don't have to give me anything eh,,, Should have check entire car,I even checked under carriage but I never expected problem from trunk..

So since the Genesis comes with a compact spare with the tire tools setting in the wheel, you must not have the jack, tools, spaire tire or the black foam that sets inside the compact spare rim. FYI the OE car does not come with a spare wheel and tire that match what is on the car.

That's what's that paper is for... its called a "Due Bill" here in PA... as in what's due and conditional of sale. By signing nothing is due/owed... allows the dealer to be free of any further obligations... legally they don't have to lift a finger about it (outside of warranty aspects).

Contact them anyway... and see if they will go the extra mile on customer service/satisfaction... will show the level of character and integrity of the dealership.

Worse case... they'll say no.

I'm with BBQ Bandit. . . I would argue for the spare. I also would argue that it should be assumed that a car being sold at a dealership have all safety features that normally accompany a vehicle. You should not have had to look to see if a spare was there!
