Sprint Booster for the 2015 V8

So today I was the Guinea pig for the 2015 V8 Sprint Booster. Great improvement on the throttle response. Had a blast driving on the 407 (toll highway) heading home. Got it from Rob at Uniq Performance who had worked with the manufacturers to get it into a current Gen owners hand.

Anyone local in Toronto that would like to see the difference first hand, is free to reach out to me and we can set something up.

Hope to get it hooked up to an OBD reader soon and see if there are any changes to fuel ratio, air, etc.

Just curious: from the website, it appears that it works by modifying the throttle signal to effectively reduce the full throttle pedal travel - why would you think it would change anything else?

Does it make the car a little "jumpy" in normal driving if you have it switched on?
 
Sounds like an awesome way to burn a lot of gas. They were pretty adamant on their site about what it does and doesn't do.

• Sprint Booster does not increase Horsepower.
• Sprint Booster does not reduce your 0-60mph times.
• Sprint Booster DOES make your car 'FEEL' faster.
• Sprint Booster is not for everyone.

Personally this seems like a better fit for the V6 than the V8 (if feeling faster is the goal) but I personally would not spend the money for the convenience of not pushing the pedal quite as hard.
 
The 8 doesn't have all that much pedal travel as it is.

I have a similar device on my wife's Fiat called a Gopedal. Basically the same thing as what is described above and works simply by modifying the parameters of the gas pedal input. You can select from several different modes from stock to sport with a lot of in betweens. This really woke the Fiat up however I cannot see the benift of this on the already very powerful V8 Genesis which already has a short movement gas pedal. Who knows, maybe it works well, afterall I was taken by surprise after the install on the Fiat which turned the car from what seemed like sluggish to quite fast. Yes the difference is only on pedal input but I swear there was an extra 50hp on tap. :eek:

Based on what I've experienced over the last few days behind the wheel, the one thing not to do is mash down on the pedal. RPM's will jump to red line and eventually the speed will catch up. However, when you tip the throttle in a more gradual manner, you see and feel the difference. When I turn off the SB then switch it on, there is definitely a big difference in the throttle response.
I had the same doubts when I heard about SB over the last several years but once it was experienced first hand, its the next best thing IMO until a tune becomes available.
That's the reason I've opened it to any one locally who'd like to test the difference themselves and post up their feedback. I can talk about it til I'm blue in the face but people will still have their doubts.

Why would anyone have doubts? This product does nothing except mash the throttle for you when in fact you only apply slight throttle, that's it. No big deal, makes it seem like it is faster because you now need very little throttle input to make it go. In no way does it improve performance. Drawback is decreased fuel consumption due to heavier throttle input.

PS: I would be concerned with the "redline and then speed catching up", this sounds like transmission slippage which is very bad if this is the case.
