The video is a lot better at providing context than just pictures alone. The grille doesn't look as big as I thought. It's pretty wide, but it's likely more of a triangle shape like the Essentia than the Superman diamond like the G90. It's not as big up and down like the new G80/G90 either. It still has a cross-hatch grille with the cross-hatch small air vents like spyshots of the GV80 and G80, which to me seems a bit repetitive vs. what's currently on the G70. Good note from the video guy that the license plate is on the bottom, confirming that not only are the rear taillights like the G90 but likely it has the GENESIS text on the back as well. Even if it's not unique, I think the current G70 taillights look better.
Overall, the look impressions to me seems like a sidegrade into something different. The current G70 won't be obsoleted as it seems cleaner and sportier, but the new one will look fancier and more in line with other Genesis products.

Thank you. The Genesis brand seems to be pretty far along with this refresh of the G70. Will this be a 2021 or 2022?
Personally, I suspect it will launch in 2021 with the refreshed G80.
The G80 is more than a refresh but a brand new car from the ground up?
Ugh, they're carrying over that controversial G90 grill over, which is ugly imo. Almost the whole front end will be grills...
<snip>
Maybe, but I will say this. I saw a white G90 the other day in traffic from the side and it was definitely an eye-catcher. This is ironic as I'd always personally believed that white was the G90's least flattering color (personally thinking it looked better in black). But man, I saw that side to rear-side shot in the early evening and thought "That just radiates expensive." The refresh with the new wheels are going to fly off the lots.The G90 was a very classy extensive refresh. The current model just was not distinctive enough for $65K I feel.
Looks like the new 3.5TT won't have much more power, but it will be more efficient. Looks like a decent tradeoff. At least we will have a further cruising range. Also interested in the new transmission. Not that the current one has been an issue imo.https://thekoreancarblog.com/2019/1...-t-gdi-3-0-diesel-and-8-dct-wet-transmission/ Hyundai has officially announced the new 2.5T and 3.5TT engines today.
I still think that Genesis will still use the Shift by wire 8 speed autos. I think the 8 Speed DCT will be for the 2.5T engine. I could be wrong but we’ll have to wait and see.Looks like the new 3.5TT won't have much more power, but it will be more efficient. Looks like a decent tradeoff. That’s just plastic cladding they add to the every car that tests so no one knows exactly what it will look like. Also I believe they said there will not be an N model or performance model coming this Generation, it would more than likely be second generation.Those exhaust pipes look nice. If it is a variable exhaust, maybe with the 3.5TT engine too Genesis will be focusing more on engine noise. There seems to be a rear spoiler under the covering too; the indentions on it are way too defined to just be a trunk lid. I'm not sure it'd be a G70 N though... does Hyundai have an engine stronger than the 3.5TT?
