  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

SPYSHOTS: The next generation of the Genesis G80 is here

doesnt look like 2020 G8 will have it

I don't think anyone was expecting that it would. They aren't going to make a change like that with only one year left for the model. We have not heard those type of details on the next Gen so that could have it.

2021 is the next gen G80?

I noticed that the quote from Fitzgerald also said the top engine would be "THE v6". I wonder if that puts more weight on the V6 option being the current 3.3TT instead of a new or updated 3.5TT engine.

Well regardless, I'm glad they confirmed the new G80 would debut in September.

3.5tt is the top of the range.

I guess 2020 is the last chance to get the v8 then

I know there have been rumors on that, but what's the best source we have for that info?
Hyundai/Genesis has been creating a 3.5TT which would be implemented to the into the G80/GV80 and possibly the G90 in the future. 3.3TT is on schedule to stay on the G70 until the refresh happens and the GV70 will more then likely have the 3.3TT as well.

I mentioned the 3.5t in another thread and someone posted that there is no such engine under development that it was just a rumor started by one media outlet. All my searching for info did only come up with one site mentioning it. Do you know if any confirmed sources?

^ The 3.5 already exists. It's probably a matter of tweaking it and slapping a couple of turbos on it.

Lambda II MPi G6DC

That is the II, what has been talked about was the Lambda III.

^ Dunno...all I know is the 3.5L has been around for a while. What they are doing with it...no clue.

I believe I read it somewhere on Caranddrivers website that the GV80 will be getting the new engine and then of course KoreanCarBlog.

Whooooo! Confirmed debut!

No V8? Looks like I'm going to trade my 2015 in for a 2020 5.0 and keep it forever. Or I move over to one of the other brands that still offer V8's.

I'd consider a smaller motor if they made a big HP hybrid like the Volvo S90 Hybrid or the Aviator Hybrid.

Now to wait until the reveal... :( haha.

I want the rumored 3.5TT V6 engine. Hopefully that is available in the 2021.
I also wouldn't mind seeing some more stuff about the new augmented reality HUD.

I have my cash ready for pre-orders when they drop here in Canada.
