  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

SPYSHOTS: The next generation of the Genesis G80 is here

The headlights have dual DRL’s which look really cool.
Yeah something that was implemented in the G90 refresh. All models from now on will get the new corporate grill and signature headlights to distinguish them from the rest of the car companies. So that means refreshed G70 will most likely get the same front end in 3-4 years or so.

Oh hell yah! Hype is re-engaged!

Saw this photo online, it was posted over the night on a Korean page.

More hype, thank you Glaz!

Maybe you guys already know, but I just saw how the new infotainment interface (scroll wheel) in the interior shots works based on the GV80 concept. Look at a few seconds of this video below.

It will be interesting to see how much of that makes it into the production vehicle. I would imagine the interior/dash layout will change quite a bit unless they want to compete with Mercedes for the ugliest.

Interesting to see the G-matrix pattern used more for the new G80. I like the pattern on the new wheels as it makes them more unique, but in the same vein because of how little it's there it's really not unique enough.

I wonder what the official rims will be, or if they're placeholders from the G90?

I believe these rims will be either the base model or the 2.5t sport model. I like the design and I wouldn’t mind seeing them on G70’s.

I think that render takes a bit too much creative liberty with the greenhouse notch at the back. None of the pictures really point to it looking like that. And I don't think it captures the headlights accurately or the deepness of the body line that goes from the front fender all the way to the rear. The headlights are the two separated strips like the GV80 Concept, but they also have individual lamps like the new G90 and DRL bars on the lower/upper parts closest to the partner strip. The body line I mentioned significantly protrudes more than almost any sedan I've seen and makes the door handles seem really low. See picture below:

I think I linked this before, but I think this video will be very accurate to what the G80 will look like. He nailed the Sonata design based on spyshots:

Yes that exactly what I think too. I saw this render few months ago on youtube, and it was amazing that he worked on the spyshot image itself and he made it clearer, I think it's the best render for the next G80 yet.

I also agree. Both renders are awesome tho. This car is going to be the cream of the crop! Top drawer!

That guy driving around with the low beams on I take it?

Hopefully they lighten it up a few hundred pounds and put the LSD on the sport model. The problem with shedding weight is that it generally comes down to expense by using more aluminum.

I'm not sure how committed Hyundai is to using aluminum. Even their new Sonata platform has a ton of stamped steel, and the G70 doesn't have a ton of aluminum either. Though the G70 managed to stay within a reasonable amount of weight, so I think the G80 could be reasonable too though likely still on the heavier side. It's hard to do worse than the current G80 though lol. I have no idea why that car is so heavy.
