  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

SPYSHOTS: The next generation of the Genesis G80 is here

I haven't seen a few of the above but I really hope they do something with the front bumper other than string chicken wire all over the bottom. The grill and front bumper having all that chicken wire just looks plain bad. Open it up like the c63 amg or something. Or add fins pointing diagonally to the grill.

Is this our first real image of the tablet in the dash uncovered? Looks pretty large... or am I mistaken?

EDIT: Also, that article seems to confirm that the G80 won't release until next year...

Yes of the tablet screen. Also these are the materials, probably finale design of interior. Everything you see will more then likely be in the production model.

The cup holders seem to have a sliding door cover similar to what's in the Palisade.

Has anyone had any good pictures of the rear view mirror yet? I wish Genesis would move onto a frameless design.

Does the article refer to the Korean or the US market?
Korea is like this: Reveal of car then comes out 2 or 3 weeks from reveal.

USA: Reveal then comes out either mid year or late.

^ Got that, but not clear whether the G80 won't be released 'til next year for the Korean market (which clashes w/ previous statements) or if that's just for the US/NA market, which is what was expected.

I had read that the G80 will be released in South Korea in Q4 2019 and North America Q1-Q2 2020. I'll check for a source of this information when possible as it may now be considered "stale".

The article is a Korean website. Doesn't specifically refer to any market but I'd safely assume they are talking about the Korean market.
It says that the G80 will launch (next year) after the GV80 launches (end of this year.)

No need to check as that was my impression as well (see below).

Considering the source, likely talking about the KDM release, so runs counter to the previous reports about the Korean launch for the G80 around Sept.

Seems odd that the G80 will launch after the GV80 since the G80 seems closer to production, but maybe they have their reasons for changing things up (but unless that article states, nothing directly from Genesis confirming such change in time-table as the last thing from Genesis was about a Sept. launch for the G80).

In a conf. call earlier this month, Raphael spoke of a (US) launch for the GV80 in about 11 months time - so, around April/May.

Under the previous way of doing things, that would coincide w/ a late 2019 KDM launch (w/ the US/NA launch being 5-6 months later),

But Genesis had stated that they wanted to cut down the time btwn the domestic and overseas launches; so if that is the case, would indicate a later KDM release for the GV80 (early 2020).

Oh well, guess we'll soon find out.

All hail the spyshot king... oops, I mean... yes it is haha. I believe the small camera is a built in dashcam: it debuted on the new Sonata.

Thanks alot Aura, but I'm not alone here you really doing a great work to make this topic at its perfection thank you so much.
I didn't know that the new sonata has this feature too. I just checked some videos of it and I really love this! there's no need for an external dash cam and all that work to install anymore!

You’re welcome and thank you, I appreciate that immensely. I love that feature too, it’s brilliant for all the reasons you explained.

On a very side note, i hope there is no analog clock in the interior :)

It looks like there is a front, and rear camera. Or was I mistaken about what that was on the trunk?

Yes, a camera for the parking view on the grille and trunk. A dash cam camera behind the windshield and a driver assistance camera next to that.
