  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

SPYSHOTS: The next generation of the Genesis G80 is here

I'm curious when this whole reservation thing became popular? Is that Tesla influence? Why would I want to "reserve" a car that, as history shows, will be freely available sitting on the lots around the country?

Kia actually has an ordering system for the Telluride.

Due to the demand for the top SX-P trim, it usually taked 5-6 months to get the order fulfilled, but if a particular trim/color combo built for the dealer lot makes its way into the system, a person w/ an order for that specific trim/color combo usually gets first dibs from the dealer.

One thing I gotta say is how Genesis is improving that I’ve seen so far is the reveal for models in the US and the release dates happening sooner then later. Gotta give them that. The G80 is a gorgeous model. I love the VLK Black with the Havana Brown interior. Everything about it looks like a great model and I can’t wait to go test one out.

The VLK Black with the Havana Brown will be mine!! 3.5T AWD Prestige :)

Noticed that the Remote Start is on the Key Fob in one of the videos. Hurray!

I like the wheels in the top photo much more than others that have been shown.

I don’t understand how the 2nd set pictured here even make it past the drawing or modeling phase...
I think they look cool, but don't really fit the car, and the base wheels look SUPER base, which is the goal I suspect. The final set are definitely Gangnam style assault-yacht worthy of a Korean mobster vehicle, and look great. I need my 20's though, so I'm all for the big wheels.

The '18s look comically undersized on a vehicle this large.

In looking at the configurator (i.e. to build your G80) on the genesis.com website for the U.S., it appears that the 20" 5-spoke wheels are only available IF you select the V-6 with the "Prestige" package - in other words, at the very top end of the price range for the new G80. Is that really the case?

Yeah looks like it...again with the idiotic packaging honestly.

Just noticed that the aspect ratio of the tires is one size up from the old G80 (i.e. 245/45/R18 is now 245/50/R18) across all diameters. This means that if you get the '20s, you'll have the same amount of sidewall as the '19s on the old G80. This is more tire than pretty much the rest of the entire midsize segment and on par with the fullsize segment. Good for those who want a bit more sidewall, and really doubles down on what a massive beast this sedan is.

For those who follow the TV show "Motorweek", their latest podcast on YouTube includes some very favorable comments about the new G80's styling ("stunning - both inside & out"; Bentley-like). You can find their 5-minute (approx) discussion of the G80 with this link, beginning around the 7:20 point on the podcast timeline.

From the same channel @Abdullah0637 posted above: engine bay, suspension, subframe, fender lining, reinforcement, aluminum parts etc etc. Translated subtitles were useless to me but great content and detail
