OK. This thread must be contagious. I read it for the first time last night.
Up until today my voice recognition system has been doing fine (I bought my Genny in May '09). I tried to make a hands free call today and when I pressed the voice command button on the steering wheel instead of getting the normal "DOINK....say a command" I got "DOINK....(pregnant paus)....pardon" and then the list of voice commands popped up on my screen. I "cancelled" out and tried it again. Same issue. I parked and shut down, then restarted, but the issue was the same.
In my case, if I say a voice command, it does what it is supposed to do. It just doesn't give the initial "say a command" voice prompt after the "DOINK" tone. I'm gonna see if it does this again tomorrow after a good, overnight "rest".
From this and other threads I've read it sounds like Hyundai hasn't figured this one out. They just start removing and replacing stuff until it "goes away".
