  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

For those of you who have installed the Genesis logo emblem on the steering wheel, I've noticed that the emblem comes with an adhesive already on the back of the emblem as well as an additional oval piece of 3M double sided tape. Did you install it with or without the additional tape? Is the additional tape necessary for a proper fit? Just curious....thanks!

I have not, but the vendor who sells it reported in another thread on this forum that the additional tape is not necessary, and will make the emblem stick out too much. They included the extra tape just in case someone needed it (especially if they removed the old H emblem and dug out too much of the plastic material in the process of doing that).

When I installed my steering wheel emblem, as I posted, I spent a little extra time to remove the old "H" emblem. ONLY THE CHROME/METAL PART. This allowed the new emblem to fit into the indent perfectly and only used the one piece of tape.
Hope this may help

NOT NECESSARY! Seriously, I'm sure that removing the old emblem is a significant effort, as it is hooked into the plastic. The oval emblem is "domed" and does fit securely right over the top of the old one. If you do it reasonably carefully, it looks great, and you dont have to worry about messing or disturbing the airbag!

I ordered the emblem on ebay, used the single tape that was attached, and it looks great. $15 and less than 1 minute of labor - can't beat it!

OK so yu do not need to remove the old H logo correct

That is correct.

And if you tried to remove it, you would probably regret it.
