  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Stick-on genesis emblem for steering wheel

Exactly right, Mark. I can't tell you how many times strangers have noticed my keyfob and looked away in pity. I feel shamed for life.

lol at both comments. but the stick-on is a bit cheesy.

Just wear a bag on over your head. That way, just in case someone sees your keychain and notices you drive a Hyundai, they won't be able to see who it is.

i don't care about the hyundai brand. i actually had a sonata lease for three years before this. if i had issues with hyundai i wouldn't have bought the car period. it's just the H i don't like.

thank you very much. have a good life

well i stuck on the 8.75 incl. shipping emblem. i haven't really noticed it the times i've driven in it since..so i guess it worked? now...what to do about the H on the key remote

Just leave the remote in your pocket and no one will ever see the H!

If anyone is interested, the lease is up on my 2011 Genny 4.6, and I'll be selling some of the extras I bought for it. I'll be putting the original airbag back on and selling the KDM one (grey). I'll get my crap together and post it in the "For Sale" section in the next day or so.

I'm interested in the bag, I'm out here in Miami. PM

Finally returned from my business trip. My lovely KDM steering wheel air bag was waiting for me. I decided to install it last night after work. Amazingly simple. From the time I pulled into the driveway from work. I disconnected the battery, changed the bag and put the car back together. Total time was less than 15 minutes. Including me being in dress clothes and trying not to get dirty. LOL

Very easy mod and great looking. I will sell my old airbag on eBay next week sometime.

Highly recommend this.

We actually had one owner here who had cut the "H" out of his steering wheel and wanted to know what to do next. After that I don't recall if we ever heard from him again.

Has anybody here with a cashmere interior installed a replacement air bag? I seem to recall that the air bag cover lid color did not match with the original steering wheel.

I have the cashmere interior but my steering wheel is a slate/black color. I have not seen it any other color.

Hi. My color combo is exactly the same as your car. Red outside,, Cashmere inside. The Cashmere interior uses a brown (some say very dark brown) floor and also the wheel and dash are brown. The wheel I ordered is the brown (in some cases, I have seen it called Grey) and that is the correct one for the Cashmere interior. It looks great. Hope this helps.

PS - I went to pick up my son on Friday. The Ex-Wife never seen the car before. She asked what it was and I told her it was a Genesis. She was sitting inside on the passenger side and looked and she said, "wow, I really like the emblem" as she pointed to the steering wheel! Lol. She didn't know I installed a different one or that it was a Hyundai or even that there used to be the flying H there. So I didn't say anything, just smiled knowing it was only the day before I installed the new airbag :)

Maybe the brown carpet with the cashmere interior is on the red exterior. That would look good together. Brown carpets would not look good with the blue colour of my car.

It's pretty clear to me that all Genesis with a cashmere interior are not the same regardless what some may believe.

The deep "cocoa brown" carpet looks black, at a glance, but you can be sure it's brown. Does anybody really think that Hyundai just gave red cars with cashmere interiors the brown carpeting? The floor mats, however, are black.

Yes, I also have a brownish/gray, not black, steering wheel.

Of course, it is possible that the '13-'14 models changed to all black carpet and steering wheels for all cars. Just go out in the sun and compare your carpet against your floor mats to confirm.

One thing I note about the KDM steering wheel emblem. It seems to catch the sun a lot more and the chrome reflects into my eyes. Not a good thing. Wish it were little more matte finish to reduce this effect. But otherwise, I love it.

So tape up the airbag and hit the emblem with a bit of matte clear coat.
