  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Subwoofer under front seats?

I also just reset my system to factory defaults (Settings -> system settings -> reset to default - or something similar to this). I was also noticing a lack of low end and once they are working you'll definitely realize what you were missing as others have said.

I can feel them with the volume up and something with decent bass, slightly but enough to know its not the door woofers. That and the sound seems "fuller" as opposed to dropping off around 60hz or something (guessing).
What settings do you lose as part of the reset? Curious about trying this but I also want to make a note of what will need to be changed back

I'm not sure, I've only had the car 24 hrs so I didn't really change much in this time. I would guess any preference set using the head unit touchscreen would revert back to default based on where the "reset to default" setting is located deep in the system settings.

My guess is that you had the surround turned on to something like "Stage". Default turns that off and you no longer get the weird spatial stuff.

If I had to guess I was changing the settings (Quantum Logic - Audience Mode, etc.) in some manner, or too many changes too quickly which resulted in a bug or something leaving the subwoofers out of the audio output. I did try changing the advanced sound modes and various sources to try and confirm the subs were working before resetting all to default but it didn't seem so. Granted I've only had the car two days and had read this forum before getting my car so take it all with a grain of salt.

Went for about a 5 hour drive today changing all sorts of settings and had no issues, subs were clearly working and have had zero issues since.

Exactly, I think it's the audience mode - stage does some weird things as it moves the "instruments" around the space.

I doubt one of them is "under the seat"

My current favourite audio setting is everything off (no additional processing) and running the default settings so far. This is all with satellite radio, so i'm looking forward to playing some higher quality files through USB to see how it really sounds.

So just for the hell of it I tried resetting the audio system to default today, and discovered that my subwoofers weren't working previously. The system hits much harder now, enough so that I am satisfied with it, and likely won't feel the need to add extra subs in the trunk. It's odd how finicky this system seems to be with regards to the subwoofers completely getting removed from the output.

I didn't lose much at all when resetting the sound system. You just need to set your speed sensitive volume preference on or off, the soundstage setting, clari-fi on or off, and tone settings. It took me like 30 seconds to set everything back to where I wanted it.

I actually installed an extra 12” subwoofer in my trunk cuz my lexicon lacks bass :/

Can you provide a picture?

Nothing fancy .. but it fills the sound gap perfectly 👌🏽
It can be easily removed if the space in the trunk is needed or for regular service

How does this integrate with the factory system? Do you have any way to adjust subwoofer volume levels individually from the drivers seat?

How does this integrate with the factory system? Do you have any way to adjust subwoofer volume levels individually from the drivers seat?

I have installed a button under the driver seat, so I can turn the external subwoofer on/off

The subwoofer gets signal from the rear speakers as I said and it gets louder/softer when I adjust the factory equalizer
It also gets louder when I turn the quantum logic surround sound on (onstage mode”
(because it reacts like the rear deck speakers)

You can also adjust the subwoofer gain from the external amplifier installed on the subwoofer box ..
I set the gain so if you would choose 0 Bass on the equalizer u can barely hear the external subwoofer .. my perfect listening setting now is +3 bass >>> that way I can have a decent bass on louder volumes without risking to blow out my lexicon speakers

Even though the factory “subs” are working, they sound very weak and don’t go that deep at all .. and on higher volumes they’re useless :/
I previously had the bass always between +7 and +10! Because the subs were just too weak .. the sound was really clean but lacked bass especially on high volumes

Now because of that old equalizer setting I have a blown front left door speaker, my hyundai dealer checked it and a replacement speaker is on it’s way.

Now with the external sub I can protect my speakers from high bass setting and hopefully they won’t blow up again, because the 12” sub is taking care of most of the bass

I thought the system didn't sound bad.. it would shake the mirror at higher volumes and sound a hell of a lot better than the Raptor or Focus RS. So for shits and giggles at lunch today, I reset the system to see if it made any difference.. HECK YES.. Now at around 15 the rearview mirror starts jumping and outside around the 20s with default settings.

I don't know if something is sticking with sound processing or something else..
