Been here awhile...
Just wondering are you an employee or part of a dealer organization ?
Are you talking to me? Definitely not. That would be a lot more clear if you read all my posts (which is probably too much ask of newer members).Just wondering are you an employee or part of a dealer organization ?
I don't consider my response to be rancor. In addition to providing the answer (which I did willingly) I mentioned that the evidence that I am not associated Hyundai in any way (other than being a Genesis owner) is contained in my previous posts. If you don't want to read my previous posts, that is fine with me, but I felt compelled to offer up evidence to back up what I say. IMO there are some people associated with Hyundai on this forum who have not identified themselves as such, so it is a legitimate question, and I would not necessarily take everyone's word at face value on the question of Hyundai association. No, Read most all the post it's just a simple questions, You have posted alot and were here before me buy about 185 days, but that actually does not mean anything in the scheme of things, as least to me. I was just wondering and now you have said it to me. So thanks for the answer.
When I was active on the www.nissanmurano.org forum with over 4500 posts over a number of years, one thing I always did was to try and make new members feel welcome and answer questions without rancor.![]()
My theory is it has everything to do with whether you believe you are affected by the suspension or not. Those who are having issues want it to be magnified to the point that Hyundai will fix it. Those who aren't don't want it to seem like the problem is widespread.People seem to get very touchy anytime the subject of suspension comes up.

Since Hyundai has revised/tuned the 2010 Genesis suspension to specifically address these concerns, it is hard to say they will not admit there is an issue with the 2009. I am not sure if you are suggesting that they retrofit the 2009 models for free under warranty as part of that admission. I would certainly like that if it happened, but I am not holding my breath. It appears that some people are having a suspension issue (me) and others are not. I believe this is a real issue. There is some fine tuning that this suspension should go thru. As many have said the Genesis performs outstanding on smooth roads, but when it encounters undulating ripples in the road MY Genesis definitely comes up short. Im not going to repeat all the issues that others have had. All I can say is this is a real problem for some of us and I hope, but doubt that Hyundai will admit to it or do anything about it.

To All...
Do we not agree on an idea that, in order for a car to turn (handling), it will have some "harsh" ride? Less oscillating suspension (in general), less floaty, thus, less up/down/side movements, thus better control...?
In Azera, it's just soft and floaty. Isn't the main problem with the Camry and Camry derivatives are the soft suspension, thus no handling.
Don't we just accept the idea that Genny will come with some harsh ride quality just because it has some sports ride capability? Can a car have both? If both, how much something like that cost?
Maybe, some of us need reality check? Maybe, we can have the cake and diet at a same time without gaining the weight?
I am within my 6 months to get my Genesis. I have Azera. mmmmm....
btw.. there are many Houston Genny drivers here... How was the dealership? I go to one on the Katy Freeway. The service guy name Ash is very cool and attentive.
I'm curious to hear if any Canadian Genesis owners here are experiencing the same issues. I for one have no complaints with my suspension. I find it a good balance between firmness and comfort, maybe leaning more to the sporty side .
I don't currently own the Genesis, but I am certainly very interested. I have test driven the genesis several times now. The first two times was on a highway, then on regular streets. I never noticed a suspension issue. I then found this forum and saw a number of complaints so I test drove it again making sure to driver over a bumpy road. I did find it a little jittery but with less than 5 minutes on a bumpy road, it's hard to say how much it would bug me.
I test drove an '08 G35 immediately after on the same road. Given the car was used it may not be a fair comparison, but the G35 handled the bumps with considerably more comfort and I realized just how much jostling was going on in the Genesis.
I'm now waiting to see what occurs with the 2010 and/or whether there is an announcement about retuning the '09 suspension. I may not be that bugged by the current suspension but I am not going to take the chance.
One thing that strikes me is that, given the volume of complaints about the suspension, it's clearly a broad enough issue (though not all inclusive) that it could seriously impact resale values. Given this is Hyundai's first foray into the luxury market, I would think that they would want to do everything possible to protect resale values to attract luxury buyers who will concerned about this kind of thing. It seems most owners on here would be willing to pay for the retuning. Perhaps Hyundai is waiting til the reviews are in on the 2010 version before doing any kind of a recall / "hotfix". If I was running Hyundai, I know I would. No sense in incurring extra costs / wrath of customers until you're sure you've got it right.
Thoughts on the above? Also, anyone have a review or seen definitive details on the 2010 version?
Has anyone talked to a dealer about LLT's August 15th comments in Support for suspension issues?
