I contacted my Hyundai contact and he said to call this number and tell them the issue you are having to see if they can do something for you.

Always forward - Thanks for the reply. I have gone through the Hyundai rep and he contacted the local dealer and also Hyundai themselves. The answer was no they will not change out the software. The rep was very good to work with, and understood my issue since the car was designed to telescope much more than 1 inch.

So I'm trying to see if a qualified mechanic knows if it can be changed so it telescopes out to where it was designed to. Thanks again for your reply.

Really stress the disable aspect? They just took a safety issue away. Ask them why it was changed. And make sure they answer that. Would give you perspective from them you can challenge.
