  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Sorry about that. I'm a big Jalopnik fan, but that site was pretty bad. I also use a pop up blocker browser, so I didn't realize how bad it was.

I would like to point out I have a friend with a Model S that has over 120,000km on it and it has been very reliable and he has done nothing but regular maintenance to it. Anything else that has gone wrong has been covered by Tesla.

I do assume one day I will own an electric car, and there is a good chance it will even be a Tesla (Model 3 is a blast to drive and if you haven't tried it, you need to). That said I am still happy with what I have. The model 3 long range which is very comparable to the G70 3.3T Sport that I have costs about $20K more in Canada and there is no rebates for it where I live. It is simply not worth $20K more imo. If the price difference was only about $5K like in the US, I would definitely look closer at it.
There are also some people (like me) that have thought about buying a Tesla so they can drive in the HOV lane for their morning commute which takes off about an hour of drive time each way. Nothing sucks more than sitting in traffic while all the carpoolers and Teslas cruise by in the HOV lane...cheap registration that lasts for 5 years as well which is a nice added perk.

please stop trying to convince yourself that you made the right choice and you out smarted everyone else and that your on to something new.

not everyone has a super charger at home or in there apartment, my fam members dont so yeah 1 hr charge he get 3-5 miles .
Do your research on Teslas before you post like you know everything about them including maintenance. Most people that have Teslas have the quicker charger at home. It’s a personal choice on what kind of car you drive and obviously you don’t have to drive an hour and a half to work each day and fill the gas tank more than once a week..The G70 is an amazing car and even greater to own just as Tesla makes sense for some depending on their lifestyle and other reasons for buying one..

agree about lifestyle and i did, in fact i almost purchased a used p85d model S and like i said this is from two family members that currently own a model 3 performance. as far as maintenance you will still have to change your filters, rotate tires, brakes ect.... and do what you need to do with regular ice cars with about the same miles, keep in mind these fluids on new ice cars are good up to over 100k miles or more sometimes even life time minus your regular LOF . other that that your getting hit with a hefty price tag to purchase a EV vehicle also once your out of that 8 year 100k warranty you are doomed, maybe you should check out the video i posted about true cost of ownership of a tesla after warranty. personal experience i didnt like the fact the tesla had about over 100 miles of range left and about 80 miles to charging station, the thing capped to 50 mph would not go over, for a $100k car, regular eco cars and big rigs passing and we having to go on the far right lane smh thats pretty embarrassing. my other complaint is quality your paying $100k materials do not feel $100k and leather is that faKE vegan leather when you spend $100k better come with real leather , and i will say this HYUNDAI AND KIA are built better thats a fact, there is nothing luxurious about the models 3s interior, the model S is a little bit better. AFTER FURTHER REVIEW ITS JUST NOT MY CUP OF TEA.

one more thing that "auto pilot" tesla makes, makes tesla owners look stupid to people that already have stop and go adaptive cruise control with lane center keep assist and blind spot detection.

Yeah 0-60 in 2.3 I go through rubbers real quick. Definitely more frequently than the G80. Brakes are pretty much lifetime with regenerative braking, you rarely hit the brakes unless you really need to. As for filters, there's one filter, not multiple - the HEPA one I have is recommended every 3 years.

There are two levels here. The first one is autopilot which is included in all Teslas, which steers, brakes, accelerates and has all the emergency stuff you'd expect. All the vehicles have almost two dozen cameras/sensors in total that analyze your precise driving conditions. This is really something that all manufacturers should be pursuing as standard.

The premium feature is the FSD (Full Self Driving), which is progressively improving to the point of being more and more autonomous. The car can already change lanes automatically, overtake slower cars, and recognize traffic signs. Lots more too. I get over the air updates that constantly improve all of these features. It's mainly intended for highway use now, we will see more city use with this in the future. The reason why Tesla is ahead is all of this data is being analyzed worldwide, and will improve far quicker than any other competitors.

As for Tesla owners looking stupid comment, there is no reason disparage anyone for their preferences. I'm proud that Tesla is made right here in the United States, and I look forward to them continuing to be the trailblazers in vehicle safety, technology and fun.

^ most of what you state is fanboy bullshit. You enjoy spewing bullshit to justify your insane purchase?!?!

could you enlighten us with what is fanboy bullshit? (which by the way is a super aggressive antisocial way to say 'i dont agree') everything he has written seems to match with my own research. Seems like hes providing the opposite voice of those on here who just want to shit on Tesla with no actual rebuttal and hes being very respectful about it

Actually...no it isn’t. Not agreeing is a POV. Fanboy BS is justifying every single thing that your product has to make yourself appear better...either by exaggerating, making shit up or rewording thus hiding misinformation.

Every one of his sentences (almost) falls in that category.

It’s like listening to an Apple freakshow.

How so? Pretty sure I’m not bragging and making shit up about my G70.

Sounds like you should have gotten a Tesla and written a book with Dimitry.

Because instead of providing actual arguments you attack the man by calling him a fanboy and now you’re telling me the same. This is something children and not adults do. If you’ve got points to dispute please do, otherwise leave the conversation so the adults can talk
