  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The Beef's G70

Congrats Beefs!

Glad you are enjoying your new ride.

Personally, totally agree w/ waiting for the grey stitching.

Looks great, Beefer! I'm going grey stitching on my next one, I think. So nice and subdued.

As a long time supporter of you Beefer, I am extremely happy for you and congratulate you on getting the exact color combo you wanted!!! Just make sure you take pictures of it where the sunset is in the background!!

Thanks !!!! Yeah...need to drive out one evening where there are no trees blocking the sunset. Problem with that is...you need some flash/lighting since all the light is behind the car. Might play with a 3/4 view, etc.

Fme...it is...guess I should have pushed for $15k. Oh well. I’m good.

Not even sure how they can even sell it...they don’t even have the title yet.

Just because they're asking $4,848 more than they paid you for it doesn't mean that they're going to get it. Coincidentally, I just found my former 2014 Jaguar online that I sold 10 days ago to a local Chevy dealer and they're asking $6,490 more than they paid me ($33,490 vs $27,000). But just like you, I'm good with it. Here it is on their website: (Interestingly, they've assigned it the wrong color. They're advertising it as Rhodium Silver and it is actually Lunar Grey. The silver and grey Jaguars look nothing alike.)

When I first started looking to sell or trade it in, the first dealer offered me $21k (lol). That was the same dealer who tried to sell me a used 2018 G80 for $52,570 (more than I paid for my new 2019!). You can see why we never came close to making a deal, lol.

My other offers (a total of 7) ranged from $25k to $26,788. When I received the one for $27k two days before I was scheduled to fly to DC to pick up my G80, I decided it wasn't worth the time or energy to seek out any other offers and I took that one.

Perfect can’t wait to see it!!

Bracket your shot Beef. See if the D700 allows you to do +/- 1 or 2 stops and then merge it. You'll have to use a tripod of course.
Or take one shot spot metering the sky and another spot metering the car, and a third matrix metering the whole scene. Again with a tripod and then merge it.

Yea, something like this.

Nah...can just do HDR in photoshop on my RAW pic. But I find it can look too fake if over done.

I prefer natural photography.

Other than which way to point the camera I know very little about photography. My brother has a photography business. I posed the situation to him, he said "The best results would be with the flash. You meter for the sunset and then use the flash at a power that would correctly light the car. You could do the bracketing, too, but that won’t get you the nicest results." I think Beefer understands that, I don't.

Yeah off camera lighting works best as long as it doesn't reflect off the paint. You need to use a polarizer to cut out the reflection.
Big light sources work best as they diffuse softer!

One quick note...this car gets very hot under the hood. I did some mellow driving...nothing crazy. Parked it. And was showing it off to donnykidd (gorgeous H.Gray G80 Sport !!). Those two stabilizer bars under the hood (assume that is what they are) were almost unbearable hot. ;)

I would call these guys below.. , Tork Motorsports and ask them what they recommend. They are the only ones I've seen who brought up the issue , which is I am assuming, the intercooler sucks. Call them.

Darek, another debadged car. As the Aussies say, "Good on ya". Looks great.

Thanks! believe it or not, I was against debadging the car till I photoshopped my '13 5.0 rspec w/o badges then I fell in love with it, lol
Although, I'll keep my G80 sport intact, since the car is leased. Another reason to keep 3.3tt badge is, to make people wonder what the hell is this and how come it pulls so hard?! ....you know, I'm tuned with JB4, right? ;)

Well folks…got my G70 !!!! Not in my hands yet…but it’s been located and I will probably close out the deal within a couple of weeks. All that is left is getting the car from the port to the dealer lot. I have my Window Sticker and VIN already.

3.3T Sport AWD in Siberian Ice with Gray stitching. My choice from the beginning.

Since both the Richmond, VA dealers have no clue what they are doing (no Franchise Licenses yet)…I had to buy elsewhere. I ended up dealing with Genesis of Alexandria. But…there is more to it. So…thought I’d share my story.

As most of you know…prior to the car landing on lots…I was calling everyone. LOL. They all know my name. From upper management to the South/East sales manager. What can I say…I’m a PITA…but it always pays off.

I was having issues finding my spec car. I knew it existed…but it was not looking good. So I made a call to Walter Dawson (SE Sales Man). He told me that several dealers put calls into him asking for the same spec. Well guess what…that was my dumb ass calling all the dealers as they were getting cars !!! Now that Walter knew all these requests were for me…he decided to help me out. See…it paid off to make myself known.

The problem is…all the dealers (east coast) from Virginia and south deal with the port in Georgia. AWD cars are not that popular in the south…so my spec car was not at the port. However…Walter found 5 of my spec cars at the northern port in Philly. This port feeds States north of VA.

So the plan now was to get that car to me. The closest dealer to me that has already sold G70’s (thus acquiring points/credits for new allocations) was Alexandria. Safford in Springfield, VA was about 15 miles closer…but they just got a few G70’s and haven’t sold any…so no upcoming allocations.

So…Walter pulled some strings…to get the car from the Philly port to Alexandria. Mind you…Alexandria does pull cars from there but mainly for AWD Hyundai’s, etc. So it’s not like they have never done it.

During all of this…I also worked closely with the dealer owner…Kevin. Super nice guy. Both he and Walter went out of their way to get this car to me. Very grateful. Honest…not because I am getting the car from there…Kevin is one of the kindest, customer oriented people I have ever met. That is saying a lot. He would call, text and email me with daily updates. And this is the owner !!!

I ended up leasing the car…10k miles for 36 months. The MF/RV that I got for Nov were slightly worse than Oct…but there is a new $2,500 cash back. Details below. I got the $1k Conquest Offer since I had an Audi…and lastly Kevin was kind enough to knock off another grand for me. I want a bit more off…but these guys did a lot to get my car. Now…the paperwork is not done…so I will ask one last time before all is signed.

Lastly…they are bringing the car to me. Close to 80 miles away. I was trying to split the cost of them flat bedding the car to me. But they offered to bring it to me at no cost…so I can experience the entire Genesis Process (going over the car, etc). I think they were also eager to get the car to me…as they wanted the first car in the Richmond, VA market to be from them :) Good advertising for folks to go north until the local dealers get their crap together.

I plan on offloading my Audi at a very good price locally…using Vroom.com. I already did the process with them….but that was 2 weeks ago…and the offer is good for 10 days. So…once I know when the car is at the dealership…I will do it again. If they screw me 2nd time around…I already know that Alexandria will give me what Vroom offered the first time. That’s a relief. If that happens…then I will drive up there…and drive the G70 back. Rather not though…95 traffic between Richmond and DC is a nightmare.

So almost there.

Happy camper here folks !!!! Let me know if you have any questions…regarding the dealer…or if you want me to check anything on the car itself (once I have it obviously).

Info…
Total MSRP is $52,725.00

Is VROOM.com credible? They make the offer via email?

Is VROOM.com credible? They make the offer via email?

Yes, as far as everything I read they are legitimate. I sent Beefer the info on them and they came back with a decent offer. Definitely something to pursue even if only using their offer as a bargaining tool with a dealer.

Well I tried Vroom for my 2014 Azera that is in pristine condition - they actually offered LESS than two dealers have already offered me on a trade. May as well trade and save the tax.
