  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The GV70 Trailer Hitch Discussion

26 cm / 10.25 inches to the Inner surface of the 2" receiver, 25 cm / 9.8 inches to the outer surface as measured on a flat surface in my garage.
Great. Thanks for the quick response.

If any GV70 owner in and around the Atlanta, Georgia area is interested in a trailer hitch, Stealth Hitches (Get a FREE Hitch for your Vehicle!) would like to fabricate one for a GV70 in order to offer them as a manufactured item. I had one on my 2015 BMW 535xi and they are excellent. The hitch is completely hidden until you want to use it by attaching the removable hitch receiver to the hidden bracket which is easy and secure. I would jump at the opportunity but I live in Colorado.

I would jump on this if I was in the area.

I have a Stealth hitch now on a Telluride, absolutely the best on the market if you want to avoid the funky receiver look on the back of the GV70. Hopefully someone takes them up on the offer!

Did you actually contact them and get the offer? I did see the link/website.
The reason I ask is that there's another thread on this forum regarding hitches. I had mentioned the Stealth Hitch (which I have on my Audi Q5).
Someone posted a response on the forum from Stealth saying that they are unable to configure for the GV70. I wonder if things changed.

I called Stealth Hitch wed Dec 1st and spoke with a guy who said they want someone to come in with a GV70 so they could fabricate a hitch.

Georgia is a bit far (I’m in NY). If I were closer, I’d be all over that. Stealth hitch is great.

My Canadian Genesis dealer installed my trailer/tow hitch on Tuesday. They did not have the trailer wiring harness available. I'm currently using mine to support a 2-bike rack, but plan to also use it for a small utility trailer.
With the bikes on the rack my GV70 kept applying the brakes when I attempted to reverse, a function of the "Forward/Reverse Parking Distance Warning" system. I have not tested this yet but I believe shifting into reverse and then pressing and holding the "Parking Safety button" for 2 seconds will allow me to back up without the warning sounds and brakes being applied.
Although I'm at the bottom of the states, maybe your Canadian dealer will ship the hitch down. Could you tell me please, the name and contact of the dealer that put your hitch on?

The dealer in Salt Lake City Utah was able to find the Genesis hitch in stock for the GV70. It is new in their parts inventory. I had it installed last week. The wiring harness is not available yet.

Could we see a Picture? Does it look like what was posted here previously (visible round tubing)?

That is great news. Is it a 2" receiver hitch? I will be checking my local Genesis dealer in West Palm Beach, Fl to see if they have access to it.

Strange. The parts department in West Palm Beach, Fl said they show no hitch for the '22 GV70 in their parts inventory list. Do you have a part number by chance?

I'll contact my local Genesis dealer's parts department as well.

Musiqman asked: "Could you tell me please, the name and contact of the dealer that put your hitch on?" It was Genesis North Calgary 403 984 9698. In a posting above I provided what I believe to be the part number.
I've had my hitch since mid October and I'm pretty happy with it. I'm optimistic a wiring package will be available in the near future.

Visible round tubing. I don’t have the parts number. I called three dealerships locally, two could find the part and one couldn’t.

Thank you very much. If all dealers around me fail, I will try to get your dealer to ship to me. Now that I have the part number from you I can maybe make some progress down here.

Thanks...likely the exhaust location is the reason for the exposed tubing. Pretty sure Stealth will work but likely will require notching the plastic on the underside to avoid (the exhaust). Not a big deal so hopefully they will fabricate something soon.

While looking threw Carfax cars today I came across a either '21 or '22 that listed towing wiring as part of the cars package.

FYI, on the Genesis accessories page, it now lists a trailer hitch.
