The tint had bubbles in it after a few days so the installer (Mercedes Dealership) wanted to re-do the install. Took it off and put on solution, this was the reaction. Not even a razor blade or adhesive remover would take it off in between the defrost lines. Seems to be embedded in the glass. They stated its never happened before and wanted me to post the question to the forum.Lots of adhesive residue leftover on the window. Why was the film removed? Who removed the film, and why didn't they remove the adhesive?
That didn't work either.Looks like adhesive residue like Scottdk said.
You can try rubbing alcohol to remove it.
I saw on another forum that others had tint installed and tint gave off a haze at certain angles. Several tint shop personnel indicated it was installed incorrectly and to have it reinstalled. Supposedly there is solvent they use that doesn't effect the defrost wires. But it didn't work with whatever is on my window.Since we're on the subject, we are the second owner of our 2015 AWD and since day one the rear tint on the car has annoyed me. From the outside it looks perfect. But when you are in the car and look out the rear window everything you see behind you is blurry. Like if you wore glasses and took them off. There are no bubbles or defects. It's just that the tint makes everything blurry. Side windows look fine.
I would get it replaced but I fear the rear defrost wires will get damaged upon removal.

Looks just like this. Blurs whole window, not just defrost.

Looks like cheap tint, though I cant believe the original install was left like that. A professional tinter should be able to remove it and do it right... $125 fix probLooks just like this
