  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

URGENTLY seeking Genesis Nation Opinion: new or used, tech or premium?

I'm still waiting on receiving an updated policy, but here is what's off of their website:

http://www.geico.com/getaquote/auto/mechanical-breakdown-insurance/

Doesn't mention anything about not covering an alternator, or other similar component. Also don't see any mention of it not paying for hourly labor?

What I do know, is that it's not a contract. I can cancel at anytime.

I'd like to get a look at the actual policy. There isn't much info on that website. I sent an email request to them.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Hopefully Philth will at least get a hard copy of the policy/warranty since he has signed up for this from Geico and then he can post details here once it arrives.

I'm still waiting on a reply from Jim Ellis for clarification. I heard back Saturday that they are still efforting a solution to the non-covered items. Fingers crossed that a small surcharge or something is available.

Here's a copy of the MBI:

I also spoke with the MBI department. As long as it's installed at the factory, it's covered, so long as it is not listed in the "Exclusions" section of the policy. (Abuse, wear and tear, corrosion, etc.)

There is no contract and can be cancelled at any time. The only fee you would be on the hook for is the $250 deductible. You will not have to pay hourly labor rates.

That seems fairly straightforward. With your permission I will forward to my agent for his comments as it doesn't seem to jive with his earlier description. He did not say where he got his info.

Thanks for posting that Philth. I'm no lawyer, but that looks pretty good. It seems to have far fewer exclusions than the HPP plan, albeit a higher deductible.

One question though, why did you sign up for it now? I know your car is a '12 and I assume you have under 36k miles; why not wait until your electronics wrnty is about to expire? Minor point, just curious.

I'm still waiting for a reply from Jim Ellis on the open coverage items.....

Of course, go ahead. I'd like to see what he has to say.

Only original purchasers of new vehicles are eligible. Must be done before 12 months and/or 15k miles.

Oh, that stinks. I didn't see that reference in there.

I guess that lets me out...I'm the second owner even though in service less than 12 mos and certainly under 15k miles.

Back to HPP for me I guess....C'mon Jim Ellis....
