  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

US dealers who actually have the G70 available for sale.

I spoke to Arapahoe and McDonald, I am also talking with Shortline. They were just purchased by Schomp and they are saying they are going to be a Genesis dealer.

Excellent, thanks.

Where is this Magic Internet Link that tells prospective Genesis customers where to find these elusive, hidden, covert, dealers? Inquiring minds want to know. Folks just can’t wait to drive hundreds of miles to buy a new Genesis.

It probably is not up to date given everything else but go to Genesis.com and search for dealers and choose to only show the G90 models. That will tell you which dealerships are Genesis branded.

Right?? None of this is making any sense.
They could be getting it on the west coast also. But if they just hit the east coast, it will be a few days before they arrive on the west.

That’s assuming all the cars are in the east. Pretty sure there are ports on the west coast.

Hyundai ports are:
Port Hueneme CA
Portland OR
Brunswick GA
Philadelphia PA

An update on the dealers I contacted.

First, my state, Oregon seems to be clueless. Check out what one of the dealers told me..

Ive heard lots of rumors on the G70's. I heard we have them on the Doc but we are unable to sell them nor put them on our lot so they just have been sitting there for a long time.

So to answer that questions, we dont know when we will even get them in our store or any Hyundai Store.

This is tempting me to check out the port of Portland again! Anyway, the other dealers here are also in the dark.

Next, I reached out to 3 dealers in Nevada, so far none of them know exactly when they'll be receiving the G70, they are guessing between 1-2 months.

Last, I spoke to a couple dealers in Utah. Just like Deisic said previously, sounds like the state is looking at 1-2 months before receiving any inventory, just like Nevada. One thing of note a dealer there said...

...they are just getting the paperwork finalized for the brand in Utah. I haven't seen any allocation yet of what we have inbound as yet...

So there's that... :/

Anyway, still waiting to hear back from dealers in Washington state.

Sounds like the west coast is looking pretty uneventful.

From the above post discussion:

"I heard we have them on the Doc but we are unable to sell them nor put them on our lot so they just have been sitting there for a long time "

if i were in the US market, i'm not sure i'd be too keen to snap up one of the first G70's to be made available. maybe in the long run this won't matter - or for leases, but a car sitting outside in a port facility for months on end is not my idea of a party. i know cars come with some shipping protection, but doesn't Portland get toasty over the summer?

i bet there are lots across the US with G70's sitting and 'wasting away'. a shame.

Yup, Portland gets pretty warm over the summer. If you dip up a post I made previously, you'll see some pictures I snapped of some Hyundai's at the port over here - they have a lot of protective covering. Even so, there were no G70's when I went for a look, so IF they are at the port right now, then they haven't been there very long.

Know you were at the port earlier. If I recall you were not able to look at all the areas? According to shipping records posted in multiple threads, there were G70 in the port from many months ago.

This is true. There is a substantial area of lot that I was unable to visualize. Entirely possible the G70's are there. Sorry, I should have clarified that!

I wonder what they would say to me if I just drove up to the security gate and asked if I could take a peek. Either way, won't change our situation at all.

Alright. I've gone full nerd over here. I just emailed the port of Portland to ask for a tour of Terminal 6, not just to see if they have the G70's on the lot, but also because i genuinely get excited about how all that transportation works!

Expecting a no, but I figured it's worth a shot. Haha.

From one big nerd to another - Good Job! You never know, it is worth trying.

Curious if anyone has done this...or knows of the cost involved.

If I were to purchase a G70 a few hundred miles away (400 miles tops)...how expensive is it to get the car shipped to me?

Normally you would go to your local dealer and make a deal. Sometimes they do swaps and there is no cost to you. Since my local dealers are wankers...I have to look elsewhere.

I could drive there...and drive back. But if they scam me on my trade-in...that would be brutal. Could fly I suppose...but airfare could be close to the cost of the transport. Plus...racking up the miles coming home.

When I was looking at the S4...my local Audi dealer found one about 2 hours away. He said there would be an $800 transfer fee...but they would probably swallow that cost...whatever. So my thinking is it could get very pricey.

I thought about that: Calif to Nevada. I don’t have a trade, but 400 miles is not going to affect the value that much. I’d suggest selling trade separately at some place like Car Max. I think it complicates it and makes it harder to deal on the car you’re buying. If I buy in Nevada I’m going to get a one-way rental and drive the new G70 back.

I was trying to get a deal on a demo G80 located near Boston. I got a free quote from a shipper to get it to me in Pittsburgh. Was about $550 I think. Didn't shop around though so I don't know how much price varies. $800 to ship a car two hours seems outrageous though.

Yeah...agree. Thing is...CarMax is a bunch of scammers. Audi offered $15k for my car. Sure they want my business...so let's say it's value is $13k. I bet CarMax will give me $8k. Private sale is too annoying to deal with.

400 miles is not too far. You can go with a friend or relative and try to make a trade in deal. If it doesn’t work both can drive back.

Give Vroom a try, I have read a lot of good things about them. I'm going to use their offer as a gauge of the trade in value I get. I guess you just fill out a form, take certain pictures and within a few days they come back with an offer. If you accept they come and pick up the car at your house. Don't know if it is available in all areas though. Vroom: Buy, Sell or Trade-In Used Vehicles Online
