  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

US dealers who actually have the G70 available for sale.

Looks excellent!!! I love the understated gray interior. *Sigh* I wish I wasn't such a huge sucker for dark chrome on blue.

That dark chrome really does look so good on the blue....and all the colors, for that matter!

Just so I haven’t mislead you, the stitched interiors are on black, not gray Nappa leather. While lighting can affect the color of black leather, the seats are black. The professional Genesis website photo is accurate as below.BE64139B-E2CE-4304-8743-7DFD733A26D5.webp

No misleading! I've done my (obsessive) research. Thanks for sharing the picture! It's somewhat difficult finding good pictures of that specific interior - most are the red-stitched black Nappa leather.

Sadly, no test drives for Genesis 😪
Just got back from the show. It’s definitely a nice car, but oddly enough, the stinger wows me more. That red Napa interior helps lift the overall feelings of luxury. The backseat is also fairly roomy in comparison.

Choices!

I have only read some reviews on each but almost every one I have read on the Stinger mentioned how loud it was in the interior and the G70 reviews mentioned the quiet. Something to keep in mind if you are looking for a more quiet, luxury experience in your sporty drive.

Agreed. The back of the G70 is very tight. I really took a liking to the Audi S5 as well as the BMW M5 (out of my price range).

Well, while we are dreaming, the Audi RS5 was good too. I do wish they would add a red leather option though :)

There are 2 options. Red and the light gray. I want the gray. Red does nothing for me in the slightest bit...except the Brembo's :)

Have yet to see them in person, but the red stitching does nothing for me (based on the pics); grey looks classier/more elegant.

Better noise insulation is one of a # of areas where the G70 does better than the Stinger.

Add to that better interior materials and tighter suspension.

The Stinger, however, has more striking sheetmetal and more room/greater utility (and for right now, better discounts; albeit the initial pricing on the Stinger was a bit high).

The Stinger can actually be purchased too. ;) I'll still wait for the G70 and give it a whirl as the quieter cabin does appeal to me.

The Stinger discounts in the southeast market, for the GT2, are as high as $15k. The GT2 at $37500 is a steal!

Jeez. That's significant. I wish I liked the Stinger, but, it just didn't do it for me when I test drove it.. And I'm not a fan of the looks. But, those discounts are crazy good.

Same, for me the Stinger is pretty ugly, just looks unfinished, and unfortunately I won't be able to live with that.

US Dealers first said August, then September, then October, then November, and now some say first of the year. All the while these cars sit at ports.

Will the state DMV recognize the vehicle manufacture being Genesis and allow me to register it, in my case CA?

Will the local Hyundai dealer service it? I also have a Genesis branded dealer locally who says they may be licensed next year sometime. How will they treat me knowing I purchased out of state?

Yes, you should have no problems registering it. Whether or not a manufacturer is licensed to franchise in a state should have no effect on registering the vehicle.

They would service it but you would have to pay for it at least from my understanding. Part of the Genesis split from Hyundai was that they are now separate entities, that is why we are seeing problems with dealing licensing. Maybe with the problems they will make a special arrangement.

Although we never know anything for sure, California is registering the handful of G80s and G90s that are still being sold. You might want to check with AAA. They are very knowedgable and don’t have the chaos you find at any Calif DMV office.

If you search the Genesis USA website there are dealers that show up with Genesis names up there: Roseville, Pittsburgh, Dublin, Colma, San Jose. Interesting mix. I’m sure Genesis would rather have dealers in places like Palo Alto, Granite Bay or Danville. I think your local Hyundai dealer (if you don’t have “Genesis” on the sign will take the money that Genesis USA will pay them to service your car.

For what it’s worth, my OHIO BMV has my G80 registered as a Hyundai model. Purchased from Hyundai dealership. Car arrived port Aug 17. Purchased Aug’18 one year later.

I just contacted 5 Dealers in OC here in So Cal asking about the G70. Two of them ran a locater and said NO cars in a 200 mile radius of Southern Cal. No Cars in a 200 mile radius?? HMMM. Unbelieveable, as the Hdq. is right off the 405 in Fountain Valley. They did say cars are at the port, can't be released for sale yet. If that is true, are dealers in No. Cal selling cars yet, are they separate Genesis stores? All the 5 dealers down here do show Hyundai/Genesis together at 1 store. Any info appreciated.. Thank-you

I just purchased the G70 3.3 Design edition in Black Forest green.... it is beautiful. And fast. For me it was worth the wait....
BTW, a dealer in Marlton, NJ has several G70's. - Burns Genesis.
