  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Weapon R - Genesis Sedan Product Development

Staff@WR any chance for a 3.8 version of this intake 2009-2012 or 2011 the non Direct Injection versions

I work in South SF; email sent!

I live in SF bay area and have a 2013 3.8. Not willing to leave my car, but just letting you all know that Enterprise rental in Burlingame has a 2012 Genesis in their fleet, in case that helps. It's the branch thats right next to Burlingame Hyundai, about 10 mins North of SF.

Alright everyone we have a volunteer R-Spec vehicle lined up for Wednesday!

If there is time we can dyno to test results but that depends if the shop we use for dyno testing automatics is available as here we can only do manual transmission vehicles.

My 5.0 is with Weapon R today since morning. We'll see what magic they whipped up later today. I am counting on 2-week-old Castrol Edge to protect my engine if they got enough time to run dyno.

Thanks TLIN for helping make this happen.

It's nothing, my work is less than 2 miles from their R&D garage. I only hope they take videos and put on youtube later.

**UPDATE: Drove about 50 miles with prototype; at half throttle or more my V8 finally sounded like a V8 (deep growl). Below half throttle the engine is still quiet. Overall faster response, too.

Staff@WR any chance this can spill over to the 3.8 non GDI, I would be keen on an intake for my 2010 Sedan.

So is it an icebox or just a cold air intake?

the prototype appear to be just a CAI with WR's foam filter.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
So you really mean SRI.... Unless they find a way to get to the air below the headlight (not possible due to power steering motor) It's really just an SRI....

This is what it will look like, the piping used is 3.5" with our 4" inlet filter that is 10" tall the finial version will be polished as well.

Not sweating the detail.. IMO.. Please create a true cold air intake with a enclosed and insulated air filter can. And a insulated pipe. There is plenty of room to route inlet through the cold air opening into a box. Your system is not anything special over others at this point. And the real testing videos on this forum (and some in the past few days) show non increase of acceleration. Especially when heat soak in real world driving (not on a dyno with the hood open) is so easy with this type of unprotected design.

Many of us will pay more for a system that has measured results to keep no outside air temp increase.

Even a heat shield for the filter would probably help a little

See above to my post. Thanks.
