  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What 5 small things would you like to see added to the Genesis for 2010/2011?

I'm not talking about hugely expensive/extravagant items like a panoramic sunroof, rear seat climate/audio controls w/ heated seats, etc., but things that are already in Hyundai's parts bin and can easily be added for no more than a couple hundred dollars per item, per car.

Here is my list FWIW:

-Memory is cheap, add 20GB of storage space for music on Tech Package models
-Reshape the seats a bit and make the front seat bottom cushions a tad bit longer for extra support/comfort
-Add a cooling function to the passenger seat on models w/ the Tech Package
-Add a keyless entry button on the rear doors
-Power folding mirrors (okay, so this one is probably a tiny bit pricey, but if the Azera has it, there is no reason the Genesis should not)

All together I don't think these would add more than approx. $1k to the price of the Genesis.

Not sure about expense/cost, but here is my list:

1. Auto Up/Down for all four windows
2. Cooled Passenger seat (repeat from your list) ;)
3. Body colored, painted mud guards
4. Windows/sunroof opened using key fob
5. Daytime running lights (US models)

I can only come up with three more:

1: Have the keyless entry unlock as you walk up to the car (like Lexus/Toyota)

2: Have the auto lights have a delay after shutting off the car

3: Sunglass holder and integrate the bluetooth into the audio system even in vehicles without tech.

Does auto trunk close count as inexpensive? Fold down rear seats would be nice too.
Otherwise you nailed it.

I'd be happy with features behaving like you'd expect them to (based on nearly any other vehicle with similar features.)

- phonebook transferring over bluetooth (what an incredible oversight!)

- ipod displaying full artist/song information and returning to the playlist display when power is cycled

- memory profile / key fob integration

- make the smartkey unlock the doors when approaching the vehicle, instead of having to push a button (at least make it an option)

- cooled seats on both sides

What Toyota/Lexus models automatically unlock the door when approaching the vehicle? Maybe I'm crazy, but I think you have to touch/grab the door handle.

Sorry new to the site just purchased 09 Genz 4.6 black on black w/tech. and 5things would be
1. REMOTE START
2. passenger cooled seat w/tech
thats it for now

1. All windows auto up/down
2. BT in all models integrated into steering wheel.
3. HD radio in all models
4. Convert dedicated "XM" button to a "smart" button, where it can be re-tasked if/when XM goes bust.
5. Coin holder! (I know it's passe, but there are still parking meters that take coins)

Now that you say that you are right. It still is more convenient than pressing the little black button. On my car that button sometimes requires more than one push if you don't hit it in the center.

Cameras are cheap, so adding left and right rear cameras to models with backup camera will make it easier and safer when backing out from a parking stall. You can easily spot people and/or cars coming from the side.

I would actually like to have the side mirrors a bit smaller. In tight areas, the driver's side mirror really obstructs my view.

My Touareg has proximity locks that auto unlock when I get near.

I would say:

1) Height adjustment to the passenger seat

2) rear window shades that retract into the door (manual, not power)

3) Power folding mirrors

4) trunk assist

5) Weather service on the GPS.

1. A trunk lid that will not drip into the trunk
2. Cooled passenger seat
3. Trunk assist
4. Windows/sunroof open using key fob
5. Body colored splash guards as standard on the Tech Package

Most of the above are right on but thing that I would like is to have is the blue light in the ceiling lights that gives an ambiace inside the cabin as they have on the Genesis's that are being sold in Korea.

A wonder if there are any kits to install this item

I'll join the chorus that says we need a cooled passenger seat, some kind of trunk lid assist, and an a/v package designed more like Ford's Sync. Let's not forget the smart cruise control. And perhaps nicer wood trim in the interior, instead of the less-than-convincing plastics...let's face it: The wood-trimmed steering wheel is nice, but it's not as nice as a Lexus.

I think mine are already covered but one more time, I would like

1- BT call/dial and hangup button on the stearing wheel.
2- Window rollup and rolldown using remote key
3- Cooled passenger seat
4- one touch buttons for CD changing/radio station presets. I hate changing the nav screen from nav to CD or radio to change to presets.
5- Power rear-view mirrors folding

I'd love to not be forced to hit enter to agree to the nav disclaimer everytime I start the car, whether I'm in nav mode or not!

I'm curious - what benefit would power folding mirrors be on the Genesis? I've had them on my Lexus, Cadillac and several other cars - I've never used them on a car. I use them on my truck at a car wash, but that's typically for clearance issues, which I don't see being a problem with the Genesis.

Just wondering if there's something I'm missing (often, there is :))

1- more padding on arm rests
2- 20-30 gig hard drive storage
3- color side molding (dings)
4-passenger seat cooling
5-better air conditioning (rear fan control)

More padding is a good suggestion! I've gotten used to them, but if the armrest had approx. double the padding they'd be much more comfortable. My GS430 also had very thinly padded armrests.....I wonder why they would skimp on something like this in a luxury vehicle. How much could it add to the cost of a vehicle? A few dollars?
