  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

That's a great deal. My base '19 was stickered at 42.5k and got it for 37.5k. Congrats.

Damn, that was an awesome deal. Wonder how much we could offer on a 2020. I was thinking of offering $50K even on a $57,020 sport, if it comes to that. It has been sitting for a long time, and would have to check miles before anything else. But maybe we need to start at $10K below now. Ha ha. Although maybe it's easier to get a great deal on a base than a sport, even when they're more expensive. That was the case when I bought a 2018 F-150 Platinum: only got $10K discount, but could have gotten a lot more than that on a much cheaper XLT. Supply and demand.

The $10,000 discount was made up from two parts. $3,500 of it was a 7.5% dealer discount off of MRSP. The other $6,500 of it was a special Genesis factory rebate on remaining in stock 2019 models. According to my dealer that $6,500 was a single rebate per dealer that the the dealer could chose to split between several potential buyers or apply all of it to a single buyer. I guess I am lucky since my dealer applied the whole available $6,500 factory rebate to me as a single buyer.

Funny! That was the exact discount with the same story I was given when I purchased the 2013 R-Spec, just after the 2015 just got teased and about to be officially announced...:D

I’m glad to have found an active genesis forum, but apologize in advance if my post doesn’t belong here.

Im currently working with my credit union to find my next car. What do you guys think of this deal - a 2017 G80 3.8 ultimate with 30k miles. Black with beige interior for $29.8k OTD

this is in south Florida

Thanks! That one looks nice! However it’s a 5.0. The one I’m looking at is a 3.8. I’ll see if i can edit my original post
So for 2017, it's the base 3.8, then AWD can be added, then the Premium package, then Ultimate added to that. Too bad you lose Android Auto / Carplay when adding Ultimate.

I have the 2019 G80 3.8 sport package. The sport package was new for 2019 so they were not dropping the price. I paid sticker $48,000. If I would have gone for the standard G80 I know I would have gotten a better deal.

My 2019 non Sport G80 was $37,500.

Any input would greatly be appreciated. I'm on the fence. Get a '18 G80 5.0 for @$31,00 w/ 12k mi or a new '19 ultimate 3.8 they are advertising $39,999 I think maybe I can get them closer $35,000 because they have 3 with less than 20 mi that have been there for over 260 days So, what are your thoughts. Thanks on advance.

Also, I know the V8 has more power but, how does it handling with the extra weight and will the mileage really that much worse then the V6? This will be my daily driver to replace my Chevy Volt on my 20mi round trip to work.

This 5.0 seems like a nice deal they are way different cars! The 5.0 is the tops and the 3.8 is the bottom.

I think I'd go with the '19 3.8. Especially if you can negotiate the price down a bit.

Plus, you get the 10 year, 100,000 mile warranty on a new car, unless you buy the '18 on a CPO (Certified Pre Owned) deal.

As for driving there car, the 5.0 will be much more fun, no doubt. But the 3.8 is no slouch, it's a 6.4 second car. Not sure how quick a Volt is.

Edit: the 3.8 will be an improvement. I get about 19 mpg in the heavy city traffic.
