  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What did you pay for your new Genesis GV70?

Got mine week back. Paid MSRP - Advanced Package. It was hell of struggle to find car and on top of all dealers charging way over MSRP.

I guess I can finally post here now that I’m a GV70 owner. 2.5 Select at MSRP, no addons, and competitive trade at Genesis of Dublin in Ohio. Had to put down a $2000 deposit to reserve one from the allocation list.

I would consider buying from other states and looking around. I got 64K OTD in South Florida
What dealer in South Florida did you go to? I might try my luck with Sport Prestige

Local dealer seems to have half dozen or so GV70 on the lot still marketed up $6k…GV80 marketed up $10k. Been this was since October.

Guys, I'm really struggling with this decision. I found the exact model, color, and configuration I want. But the dealer wants a $2500 market adjustment fee above Genesis factory MSRP. When I pushed back on this, their arguments were:

- Genesis corporate is charging them an additional $2600 or so to bring and transport the vehicle in.

- In 2022, sticker prices for the GV70 are going UP. (so my argument about depreciation doesn't necessarily hold water)

- Other dealers are charging $6K, $8K or more in market adjustments.

I'm on the fence. I HATE the idea of paying over sticker. And do other luxury brands do this?? If I were looking at an Audi or BMW, would their dealers behave this way as well?

Make them give you more for your trade in.

I'm picking up my 2022 Lexus NX 350 F Sport Luxury in 3 days and dealer charged MSRP only. When I went to BMW for X3 M40i dealer wanted 5K over the sticker, just because they can.

I went to Lehman Genesis. Just ask for a short, skinny Bangladesh guy (honestly forgot his name). I bought the car about a month ago in Uyuni White, Advance +. $64K OTD including title, transfer tag, bs fees. That's the best price I found anywhere besides random dealerships in Alabama and South Carolina.

Trust me, stand firm on paying MSRP. You will land one somewhere. I had dealers offer MSRP and I had dealers offer $5K plus. Use the end of the year as advantage and further incentive. They want to make their numbers either way as they got volume bonuses.

I hear ya. What's working against me is that the GV70 doesn't deliver until Jan 3rd. And what I want is very specific and hard to find. :-(

You know the drill. Never show to a car dealer that you are excited ;)

Spiritamokk - why the NX over the GV70?

Don't get me wrong, I love almost everything about GV70. Though to get HUD and full digital gauge cluster I had to pay $64K and still deal with impractical suede inserts on the nappe leather seats and very fuel hungry 3.5T engine. I'm buying a family car and my wife does not need almost 400HP and limited slip differential for extra money. I did not want to look at 2.5T either because two spoke wheel is ugly to me and there is the same issue with absence of a HUD and digital cluster even in top trim. Add to it subpar experience at my local Hyundai dealership that don't know how to sell luxury cars but wanted a few grand over MSRP on GV70 and all this pushed me away to look at new NX 350 that had everything I wanted at MSRP price.

Yeah, I am between the NX350 and the GV70.

I can't quite justify paying nearly $70k when all is said and done for the top trim of the GV70 just to get the HUD and digital cluster. That's crazy.

So, I have been in touch with my Lexus dealer about a custom-ordered NX350. Bad news there is that there are no custom orders being taken and basically, if you want one, you have to take what is manufactured.

So, it's kind of down to whether I can get an NX350 in a few months, or if I will be forced into a nearly $70k Genesis (after taxes, etc.)

There is the 2022 Acura RX, which reviewers like BETTER than the NX350 (more power and better handling) but the tech inside is old. The MX would be the vehicle to get but that closes in on the Genesis price range.

All vehicles have their pros and cons. If you can get an Prestige 2.5 the wheels look nice in my opinion . If you can get at MSRP you should be looking at about 54K .

I do agree that at the top of the line on 2.5 the HUD should be available . Heck it’s on my wife‘s CX30 . It’s not a deal breaker for me.

Of course if you have the flexibility to wait you have more options . I was fortunate to get a discount and get several thousand over what I paid for my 2 year old Subaru Outback . It was a really nice vehicle as well.

Think this is bad try getting a Stainless Steel Rolex Steel watch. They produce about a million watches a year.

It is the year and month end. If you can find the model ( what ever brand ) Now is a good time to negotiate . Use the internet to search for models in the color and equipment you want if not available locally .
