  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Did that myself, back in the day!

It was a home grown business with about 30 customers in my local town. Sold coolers and all. An easy $400-500 a week and more if I sold a cooler.

I rented a garage at a local storage building and kept my 5 Gal. bottles in there. $35 a month

I traveled every two weeks in my 1987 Toyota P/U towing a car trailer with empty bottles to TN (2 hour trip) to drop them off and get new ones.

Loved the job and I managed to swell up pretty good in my chest and arms! If I remember correctly, a 5 gal bottle was 50lbs.

Now Im married and fat...go figure:rolleyes:

Nice to read about people who take a chance on doing something on their own...even better when they succeed and better still when they love it.

When I originally made Store manager only a small percent were women now our Portland Division has close to 50% . I have a beautiful store with in 15 minutes of home , the Genesis is hardly warmed up by then ! I noticed alot of people in service to our Country , My father and Brother are both Army retired. Dad was in Viet Nam during the tet offensive. I have always had a strong work ethic ,a high level of honesty and integrity because of my parents and specifically the Honest hard working Military father ! here's to all the Dad's on fathers day.

What a great success story, as well as tribute to your father and brother. Nice commute to work too!

Fantastic story of success. Did you buy your Genesis at Town & Country???

I'm a Hyundai dealer, in addition to being a partner in a Ford dealership and am working on purchasing a Nissan franchise. I'm young, but I grew up in a family with roots in the car business going back nearly 100 years. I started out mowing lawns when I was 9, which I continued until I went to college - and washed a few thousand cars on the side at my uncle's Nissan dealership. Prior to that, my great grandfather and grandfather were both car dealers. Before selling cars, I earned a Bachelor's in Finance from TCU (Go Frogs!) and a JD from GWU Law School. I joined the family business after realizing how much I hated practicing law.

I previously ran a Dodge dealership in Alvin, Texas, and purchased my Hyundai dealership (with much monetary help from my uncle) in February 2010. The dealership is Dallas Hyundai, Inc. and is located on I-20 in Dallas, Texas.

Like a chef who eats in his own cooking, it's good to see you drive a Hyundai

Welcome, GM. What color is your car? I don't know how long you have lived in Lexington but I was a Vette City [Bowling Green] resident for 37 years. After retirement I decided that the beach was calling me closer.

Ron
