  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What do you want Genesis to do?

Genesis has a winged emblem in part because the Hyundai Equus had a winged horse emblem.
Missed opportunity. Could have dropped the wings, kept the horse. Then, like RR did, put a big horse on the hood and call it Spirit of Equus.

Eh, it would take someone shape/design challenged to mistake the Genesis logo for Chrysler's (which is thinner and more elongated).

Plus, it would be almost easier to list the makes which don't use a winged emblem - as Aston Martin, Bentley, Chrysler, Mini, Austin-Healey, Morgan, Rezvani, Lagonda, Duesenberg, Hispano-Suiza, Suffolk, Continental Motors, Stutz, (Ford) Thunderbird, (Cadillac) Blackwing, Mazda, Hillman, Alta, SsangYong, Wuling, Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera, etc. all do so or did.

One was the first, so the rest "copied."

My issue with the Genesis wings is with the design - could have been a better, more striking design.

You're right, I had no idea how many similar ones there were. Too bad Genesis didn't go for a unique emblem. Maybe just a nice-looking chrome "G" would have been classy. I suppose someone else uses that on too.

Would like Genesis software engineers to look at the comments and add owners suggestions to the firmware for the current or next year car. Updates with the added features would be appreciated. One good suggestion is to automatically lock the car when you walk away with the keyfob.

Relocate the garage door opener buttons other than the mirror. Often after exchanging drivers they will adjust the mirror as driving down the street. Inadvertently they touch the garage door button and now you have left your house with the door opening back up after you had just closed it.

As long as that was a setting you could toggle off and on, I am fine with it. But to do that could really be a pain in the ass for some.

The mirror and openers are not made by Genesis. It is part of the HomeLink system. Many auto makers use the same product.

The GV70 automatically unlocks when you walk up to it. Yes a locking setting would be nice.

Forgot to mention. Many door openers can connect to wi-fi. If your does, there is an app, myQ, that lets you check the status and open or close it remotely. You can also get Amazon Key Delivery with it.

Yes, but myQ will not work with Alexa... Go figure.

Are you sure?

How do I get MyQ to work with Alexa?

Step 1: On the MyQ webpage, select Amazon Alexa. Step 2: Select the Close car garage door applet. Step 3: Select Connect. Step 4: Now you should be done!

True, but that is through a third party app (IFTTT) and that requires a subscription fee. They do give you two free applets a but after that, there is a monthly charge. I use IFTTT for two other apps so if I added myQ, I would have to pay a monthly fee.
For the life of me, I don't know why this is not alexa ready out of the box.

To add to my last message, I have a Meross wifi garage door opener that I had on my last garage door. I will work with Alexa independently from the myQ system. I just have to reinstall it. I really don't use it to open the door as you need to use a passcode and yelling it through the door so my garage Alexa can hear it, would not be a wise security move. But I mostly use it to close the door when I am in the garage working. You don't need a passcode for closing.

Never thought about it. I just push a button and the door closes.

Ok it would appear that the stand alone Genesis dealership in Marlton New Jersey is now open. Sadly they only work there service wise Monday-Friday. Great for those of us who are retired I’m guessing, but I feel badly for the ones who can not accommodate that schedule.

Don't they offer the valet service?
Back in the day when I had my Hyundais in NJ, I would drop my car off in the AM at the dealer and they would drive me to work. They would either pick me up or deliver my car to me after work.
When I had my Audi, the dealer on their own, offered the valet service.
My buddy had a lexus and they would come and get it from his work and drop it off when they were done, and that was in NJ too.
They got to get their act together.
People want to blame the fact that they are Hyundai/Genesis dealers for lousy service, but it looks like that is not the case with your standalone dealer.

I’m good as I have nothing but time to bring it to and from as needed.

I just bought a 2024 Genesis GV60 RWD Standard. Surprised to learn that Digital Key is not included, wireless Carplay not built in (no mention anywhere in sales literature). Genesis may considered these features to be optional luxury but I disagree. A true luxury brand should always allow its customers, whose preferences and tastes are highly personal, to choose if for cost reasons that certain features are not included. Packaging a set of options based on MSRP and marketing assumptions reflects poorly the truly understanding of what luxury really entails. Luxury without choice is a ill-fated assumption. I'd gladly pay more for the B&O sound system, Digital Key, and wireless Carplay. I chose the RWD because of the extended range and the conventional driving dynamics of RWD. The AWD versions are fast on a straight line but are sloppy at turns - due to the lack of electronic coordination between the two motors and how they interact with the chassis. Suggestion: let customers choose the packages and not with built in assumptions based on price.

With that said...The GV60 RWD Standard is almost perfect as a daily driver. Superb ride and handling with much refinement that rival other luxury brands. Excellent choice of cabin materials, aesthetics, and design details. Styling is bold (different from other SUV's) with gentle curves. Lighting designs are unique and functional, OEM tire choices are excellent (Michelin 19" that can be rotated.)

Last but not least...dealership junk fees, above MSRP mark ups, and dealer after market installed equipments! They never convey respect to the buyer, build confidence on the years of post sale services to come, engender loyalty that is build on mutual trust. No luxury brand can afford the absence of these elements. Dealership price gouging behaviors must not be allowed.
