That is damn cool. Though, I suspect impractical until/unless you can turn down the brightness as it would kill your ability to see ahead in the dark.

I don't like the chrome trim above the windows so I bought a roll of piano black 3M Vvivid vinyl on amazon.ca for $15. It's not perfect, and I'm going to stop here before attempting the lightning bolt. I want to see if my SO approves before I spend too much time on it.

Very cool! The B-pillars on my list to wrap. The piano black plastic surfaces are just too easy to scratch and the same with the plastic rear spoiler. At least with the 3m product, if it gets too scratched, you just pull it off and apply a new set

I have the same attitude toward the chrome above the windows. I called one shop and they estimated $800 to wrap them in black (my car is Vic Black). This seems to be a good solution.

What about the 3M vinyl 1" detailing wrap? The bulk of the trim seems to be 20 mm which would make the tape about a milimeter too wide on each side:

That would actually be an alternative to the 12" x 54" piece that I bought for $14.99CAD and cut into strips myself. The 12" wide one will cover the lightning bolt pattern without any stretching or bending.

On my 'white' GV60, I really like the silver, and won't cover it.
That said... the piano black trim, spoiler, etc. getting scratched is a concern (though somewhat minor), and I could see wrapping those.
Either way, some of these details that get posted look pretty darn good...

Yeah, I am really not a chrome fan. I also got rid of the chrome lettering with the OEM black ones from KDM Warehouse.

Installed a Viofo three channel dash cam last night. Parking mode recording is really great. Not sure why Genesis didn't allow the USA/Canada market access to the built in cameras

I removed the plastic trip in the trunk and ran the rear camera cable through the rubber grommet in the trunk door for a more factory look. That part was probably the most difficult as there isn't much space to push the cable in. Everything else is hidden in the headliner without getting in the way of the airbags. I used the AC fuse for constant power on for parking mode and a module fuse for the ACC power. The ground point I used is one of the nuts down near the dead pedal.

Noticed the steering wheel was already discoloring after only two weeks of ownership added this cheap steering wheel cover from China. I don't really use the heated steering wheel feature (SoCal weather).

I may have to remove it though due to the HDA hands on steering wheel sensor. I'll see later today when I drive on the highway.

I want that cover. Can you post the link? I have hade my white steering wheel since July and it got a bit of dirt on it in the winter. I do use my heated steering wheel. I wonder if I could still feel it with this cover.

Seems high as my shop did the entire bottom grey portion in satin black plus the chrome over the windows for $1400.

Yeah agreed, $800 for just the window chrome is way too high. I had the same work done to mine as Guru0006 + the calipers painted and it was only around $1100.

I asked my wrap guy to do all the gray/silver parts. He refused to take the job and said it won't last on plastic. Can you share your experience?

Mine is "paint" called autoflex. It's removable like plastidip but the finish is much closer to real paint with a clear coat. It should last longer and look better than vinyl under the same conditions. Plus you can "wrap" just about anything with it, where vinyl has some limitations as you found out already.

I opted for this so that if I didn't like it I could remove it. Now that I've had it done and know what it looks like, next time I'm just going to have it done with real automotive paint.

I had a shop do the work, and they don't need to remove the pieces, they just mask everything off. Since it's similar to plastidip, the "extra" can just be peeled away.

If/when I have it all painted using permanent automotive paint, then I will make sure they remove everything, sand, prep, primer, etc. But with this it's not needed.
