  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What have you done to your GV60 today?

I had a shop do the work, and they don't need to remove the pieces, they just mask everything off. Since it's similar to plastidip, the "extra" can just be peeled away.

If/when I have it all painted using permanent automotive paint, then I will make sure they remove everything, sand, prep, primer, etc. But with this it's not needed.

Oh sweet! That's an easy solution. How long has it held up so far?

Very cool! The B-pillars on my list to wrap. The piano black plastic surfaces are just too easy to scratch and the same with the plastic rear spoiler. At least with the 3m product, if it gets too scratched, you just pull it off and apply a new set :)

Yeah, it's true mine have a lot of swirls in them already. I'm guessing it can be polished out though. You could also just put some clear PPF over it.

Love this. Would love to know more on mounting points, and where you ran your cables and connection points

Here's where I tapped in for power:

Today I picked up my Alta white GV60 from getting full Xpel Stealth (matte) PPF, chrome delete (including the EKG zig-zag), blacked out lower valences, window tint, and blacked-out rear Genesis badge (deleted the GV60 badge). Really happy with the results! Olympic Tint in Koreatown Los Angeles. Tell Jonathan that Nick sent you!

Looks awesome. Did You do a wrap for the bottom part of the car? I can't tell if it's glossy or not.

Just weighed mine when swapping to summer tires/wheels. The 21" factory ones with tires weigh 71 lbs each. I don't think there will be a decrease in range with these (from my 20" winter ones) since the weather is warmer which I think will more than balance out the cold weather poorer range.
Just took off my 18 inch Genesis winter wheel/tires today, they were 51 pounds each. The factory 21 inch OEMs just as you have noted came to just under 71 pounds. At 20 pounds per wheel difference I definitely expect a decrease in range.

Man these wheels are getting crazy heavy, I think I am going to bite the bullit and get a wheel dolly before the fall swap comes.

A very cool product, I just need it to raise another six feet to get the wheels onto the rack in my garage. :)
They're not cheap. Canadian Tire sells something similar for $260.

I called Genesis Support to report that since the Genesis Mobile app received that update about a month ago, my charging time when plugged in to my Level 2 charger says I have 32 hours until limit reached despite the dash saying like 3 hours. The rep wanted me to reboot this infotainment despite it not being an infotainment system issue, it's a mobile app issue. Prior to the pushed out app update, it was accurate. Something in that app update is a bug, almost like that time is for the Level 1 charger, not the Level 2 but it does display that I am on a 240V connection. #buggysoftware
Ok, mine is fixed now. No app update that I saw but when I plugged in my Level 2, it correctly said 4 hours rather that 34 hours!
So that makes me happy!

Has anyone installed a rubber cup holder insert for their GV60. I can't seem to find any specific to the GV60 and not sure if a generic one will fit.

I bought these... They are OK. They narrow the opening, so that the cup you use needs to be even smaller to fit into them.

Thanks, but I’m looking for the full size inserts, not the coasters.

I dropped some acid (green) today. I like the caliper color on the Kia EV6 GT, and it works with the contrast color on my blue/neon yellow interior. Seems appropriate for a performance EV. Color is Porsche Acid Green, high temperature clear coat over custom decals. I'm biased, but I think it looks how it should have done from the factory.

Received & installed the factory crossbars.

The shape (cross-sectional) is different than the PAW ones that make too much noise.

Also, the instructions are very specific on where to install them. The PAWs were just "Put the longer one forward."

They are very quiet, so I can leave them installed.

All Finished. Here are the things I did:

1) Llumar ceramic tint (20% on sides and 50% on windshield)
2) Chrome Delete on Window Trim w/ Gloss Black Wrap
3) Black rear emblem and GV60 delete
4) Ceramic Coating - makes the matte white paint really rich
5) Smoked out reflectors in wheel well and rear bumper

I was thinking about blacking out the bottom trim and rims but I like it as is.

Yes. It’s a matte black.

Do it!!! People constantly ask me what wheels I have, I'm like stock just powdercoated, my Advans are gonna take like 6 months to arrive.

Replaced my OE tires with Michelin Pilot Sport EV. They feel pretty good. I cannot tell if they are louder than the OE tires though.

The shop ran into a problem remounting the wheels onto the car. The wheels came off fine, but when attempting to put the lug bolts in, they were only able to thread one or two onto the rear disks. Apparently the rotor had shifted, causing the bolts to not be able to thread in correctly. What they did was to loosen the three phillips screws that hold the rotor to the car, then they turn the rotors slightly and re-tightened the screws. I had never seen it happen before, but they did say it sometimes happens to Mercedes as well.

I'm having trouble picturing this. The brake rotor somehow shifted on the hub, so the bolts were out of line with the hub center?
