  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What have you Raced?

That's an outrageously fast trap (mph) speed for that 1/8th mile time. Seriously...

This is something I discovered with our rspecs I'll try to explain it the best I can. Okay put the car into manual mode all the way down to the lowest gear roll up to the stoplight or to your place to launch while the car is stop dead switch it over all the way to automatic mode regular driving mode normal driving gear punch it when the light turns green the car will launch differently if a few of you try this and give me feedback or am I hallucinating

Based on your possible hallucination, would you say it launches faster or slower?

Much faster the car lunch is quicker the gears shift much faster with no hesitation bang bang bang

Well, looks like I found something to test as soon as it warms up.

The cooler the engine the cooler outside the better the car performs

There is no V8 IS-F. The biggest engine in an IS-F is a ~300hp V6. The R-Spec will win against those hands down. Now, if you meant RC-F, then the R-Spec has no chance.

I know this was an old post but I can't help but chime in. The IS-F does have a 416hp 5.0 V8. 0-60 in 4.7 and the 1/4 in 13.1. Very evenly matched with the R-Spec.
That being said they stopped producing them in 2014. And now only build the RC-F

And I raced yet another new 5.0 mustang. I got him off the line and held about a 2 car length lead then he missed a shift and it was game over.
And a kid in a turbo Precidia. And it wasn't really a race as much as a raping

I wonder if this would work for the base? So just have it in "1" on the display. Click over to auto mode. Do you power brake it a little to get a good launch? ESC on?

Okay this is what you do about 10 feet before you're starting line you stop the car put it into low (one )roll up to the starting line then stop the car at the line. Once you are stopped shift back to auto drive then when the light goes green put The pedal to the metal.

Why not manually shift? Too much delay? I haven't found a use for the manual shift so I don't use it much.

I noticed when I punch it hard in auto, it does seem to 'hold' whatever gear it's in when I let off the gas, instead of up shifting.

This is something I just discovered to make the car run faster and harder

Hey right in the Carolinas too!!! SICK! No idea 5.0 was that quick!! I should have gotten one!! DAMN IT...

I caught a FRS off guard on I-26..i was rolling at 73 or so and I see lights flashing behind me to move. I did and i saw tail lights for about 4 mins then he saw mine at about 95..lol

You guys are really lucky, getting a lot of action, makes me jealous....I think I'll start doing this at the stop lights :D

Surprised a RS-7 a couple weeks ago. Although, I want to beat my chest I can't because he had 30 day tags.

Yesterday I had a kid in a Mid-90's Mustang GT try to pass on the right, I really do not understand what he thought he was doing as we were driving down a narrow 2 lane with a 35MPH limit and for some strange reason this kid thought that he needed to pass both the car behind me and myself even though I was doing 45. I look over and see him coming on fast, about the time he was even with my rear bumper I hit the gas, he never made it past the front door before I started to pull away. I went hard on the breaks at 90, remember I was in a 35!!! A few seconds later here comes this poor little embarrassed mustang flying past me, poor kid just discovered that his fast muscle car isn't quite as quick as a V-6 Hyundai sedan.

Yes, mine does this too and it is annoying as hell. Almost as if the transmission is just "catching up".
