  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What have you Raced?

Another example.

A Real Man fights a fight one on one and fist to fist.

A Real Man doesn't go around getting in a fight and punching any woman and child that happens to be standing in the same area.

More faux stereotyping. Save it for the Prius, VW Beetle, or Fiat 500 forums. [emoji6]

Its not really a stereotype. It's actually my belief. Honor and respect.
I honestly dont give two shits what you do with your life. But express your opinion on a forum and expect people to express theirs.
Agree to disagree and move on.

Yep. Disagree to your faux stereotyping about MK19 or anyone else being a woman and child beater. You move on now.

Bah, you're just sad you got the V6. Don't take it out on us.

Au contraire, I'm quite happy that I managed to purchase a brand new 3.8 Genesis for only $24,500. It gives me the ride quality of any $50k vehicle I've driven with all the features I want in a car. It doesn't hold a candle to a Tesla Model S (which I've driven several times), and while I can afford it, I opted not to spend the $100k on one at this time.

I did stupid shit when I was 18 and I'm lucky I never killed anybody. I'm 37 now with 2 young kids who ride their bikes across 35mph roads. So yes, I'm going to call out idiots when I see them. I punch it off the line plenty but I'll never drive 90 in a 35.

Want to race? Man up and go to a track. Yup, I don't see the point in 429hp for a street car.

You don't see the point in a 429 hp street car? YOU SUCK. You probably wold be just fine if they limited cars to 70mph or better yet, I bet you would love the new cars that won't go over the speed limit.

YOU SUCK.

Wow thread is way off topic. Let's try to keep it PC and be adults. If you are going to race please keep it to the track/drag strip. Seen too many bad things happen on the street.

True...yeah....let's be adults ...sigh.....just irks me to hear someone say we should not have 400 plus HP cars.....what is this? Nazi Germany? LOL

Okay, So i beat a Merc E500 the other day.....he had no chance.

I have a hard time finding someone that takes my 5.0 seriously. I killed a turbo h22 prelude and a turbo si civic.. Lots of rice testing the rspec badge. Both races I killed them by atleast a 5 cars.. I tried to run a few mustangs, that blow by me on the street. Once I get on it and catch up to them they back out of it or turn off.. Hate mustang drivers lol But to share a quick story about one of my races. I also have a supercharged grand prix, headers pullies tune rockerd. I would race all the time on the street. Until one night my brakes locked up on me and I almost tboned a mini van too 100mph plus.. That changed the way I raced dramatically. I thanked god that night to be alive and I also thanked him for not allowing me to hurt someone else.

Nice. Know your limitations, always be careful.

I think when we are discussing what we have "raced" it isn't what it appears.....I mean, hopefully we are not racing people on residential streets doing 100 MPH plus with children and old people in walkers jumping out of our way etc.

But, when we have that chance....that opportunity say on a highway and we go to pass a car and they rev up a bit, it's that moment our hearts start beating faster and we give the ol girl some gas and fly right past that Merc or BMW etc.

It's the thrill of the chase....

I didn't say you shouldn't have your 400+ HP car. I said I personally don't see the point since I'm not irresponsible enough to street race. What, do you think all the 3.8 buyers out there couldn't afford the 5.0?

Frankly I already feel slightly guilty over owning a 300+ HP car that only gets ~20mpg in the city. The environmental cost is non-trivial and selfish. However I only drive ~5000 miles a year and I bicycle to work as much as I can. Laugh all you want, it keeps me in shape. I'm sure y'all are climate changer deniers though so whatever.

I'm sure some people are wary of the gas they are consuming.

And I walk 10 plus miles a day so when I am in a car I want as much gas guzzling vroom vroom I can get.

The thread probably shouldn't be called what have you raced but rather something along the lines of how many awesome moments you have had with your accelerator ....

I doubt many people are actually street racing. I doubt anyone on this forum has actually street raced a Genny or any car at any time in their life.

Maybe I am biased being a Texas boy from oil country but I don't mind a gas guzzling engine. The only engine I would have would be one bigger and louder.

I think most people here get my point and are on the same page. I love my 429hp and I love using it. And have no problem with anybody else using it and enjoying it.
My point was just be responsible about it.
I apologize for my part in getting so far off topic.

Oh and to chime in on the environmental thing. If you own any car. No matter how fuel efficient they are, you can't say a word. You still are part of the "problem". Most people don't realize that up to 50% of the pollution associated with cars is produced by manufacturing them. Not just the driving them.

And anybody who thinks that owning a hybrid or an electric are kidding themselves. Take a gander at where Lithium comes from......

Let me enjoy my gas guzzling truck and my 400hp car.

You're so right on dude......battery factories put out more dangerous elements into the environment that cars do.

Also, cars these days are 99% less polluting than a car from the 70's.

Now maybe one day Genny will come out with a V12. *drools*

Groan! Why don't you start another topic with that fraud so I can block it. I'll stick with something that actually has honest sience behind it.

Finally a voice of reason. I was about to suggest we create an adult Genesis owner's group.

Apparently you didn't get the memo that a BMW V8 was more fuel efficient that a prius? Look up the Top gear episode about it.

Or the fact that a H2 Hummer is more environmentally friendly than a prius in the life cycle of the vehicle.

And the whole global warming thing. Seems they got it backwards. The CO2 is not causing the warming, the warming is causing the ocean to release more CO2 than normal.

And since we've only been keeping temp records for the last 150 years, how do they know this is not just another NORMAL cycle in the billion year life span of the earth?

But I enjoy every bit of the 429 HP in my R Spec every chance I get. Wish I had more as I used to drive a 600 HP blown SBC as my daily driver. :) And my built 103HP Harley still got 50 MPG, same as the stock 50 HP original motor did.

Lmao. I knew it

Climate change is absolutely real. However. We have not "caused" anything. We may be speeding up the process a tad. However we are on a site about cars. And Cars are not the problem.
Cattle and livestock produce way more pollution than cars do. And the fact that a huge percent of our so called "recycling" ends up in landfills and isn't actually recycled at all. Anyways. Let's get back to talking about how ****in awesome our cars are.
