  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What have you Raced?

I've got a '90 Jeep wrangler with a 4.6 in-line six stroker motor, with a free-flow cat-back, and it sounds pretty sweet. Definitely not a slug, either. But not a road-race car with the 32 inch tires and the 3 inch lift kit on it either. But if you want to race across an open field... ;-)

Sounds like a great vehicle to outrun drones, and coppers across the fields. 🚔⛔️👮🏻

Re: wins!!!

MB C300 4Matic. It was quicker than I expected. He saw me before I saw him and was weaving thru traffic on the free way to get to me. It was hard to do anything over the next 10 miles as traffic was heavy. But then we got a break and took off. The MB accelerated quickly but was over matched by the Genny V8. Here is the interesting part. I had switched to sport mode and the suspension had really come alive. I really got separation on a curve when I could see the front end drivers side on the MB dip in too hard like it couldn't handle the curve at high speed, but Genny never flinched and I sailed through it at 130. I just dusted him then.

Re: wins!!!

I embarrassed a new Aston Martin V12 a few days ago . It really wasn't much of a race though because there was no one in the Aston where it was parked :D.

Let me get this straight. You passed heavy traffic and saw a break. I can only assume there was *some* traffic much further ahead, unless you both ended up as the leaders of the entire highway system. And then, while driving at 130mph, while going through a curve, you were looking in your rear view, and saw the front of the car behind you dip, while also negotiating the same curve.

Brilliant.

Raced my best friends 2006 Silverado SS over 500hp awhp, truck is cammed with full bolt ons, 3600stall and tune. For some reason couldnt copy the link, but if you goto youtube. Type in hyundai genesis vs silverado ss. Theres two vids, very close races enjoy!

His stall converter is the only reason he can jump on the line. I used to have a TBSS with built LS2, RPM trans, 3600 stall converter and ran about a 13.0 in the 1/4. He's probably low 13's in the full 1/4.

I wouldn't call it racing exactly, but the Genny is really great for getting out of a jam when you're being crowded.

Northern Virginia is the land of the "me first" people - if you lived here, you would know what I mean. Pick-em-up trucks, monster SUV's, the whole nine yards. They like to crowd, tailgate, etc.

And, I just love to surprise 'em by leaving them way behind in history land.

Assuming you both kept your feet buried in the throttle, I bet your Genny would have kept pulling away. Nice video.. You have full cutouts on your exhaust?

Craig, Hyundai is offering to reprogram the CPU for a lower speed limit.. Based on your comment, suggest you go in and reduce yours to 80mph... Oh, and some dealers we hear are now offering installed oprea windows and vinyl roofs..

I took the wife and kids to Knott's Berry Farm today and had a some great family time. As we were driving back up Beach Blvd to get onto the 91 I noticed a '83 or '84 Celica Liftback weaving through the lanes and driving basically like a nut. You know the type, it was lowered with after market rims and fat tires, loud exhaust and painted several different shades of primer grey.

As we enter the on ramp this guy is trying to become one with my rear bumper, well I happen to know this on ramp pretty well, it is long, single lane but wide and has a pretty sharp 70 Degree turn before merging onto the 91 Freeway. So I decide that I would accelerate to freeway speeds a little quicker then normal and hit this turn at 80 MPH or so to see what this guy would do, if nothing else it would get him off from my bumper.

This guy tries to accelerate with me but when we hit the turn he lost it, the rear end started to come around on him and as he was trying to recover his front tire went over the curbing. Of course the proper thing for him to do was to add power and drift out of the corner, but he panicked and probably destroyed one of his rims. He did keep driving so I knew that everything was ok.

My wife heard his car brake loose and she watched him hit the curbing, she asked what happened to him to get him to lose it? All I could say was that he made the mistake of trying to keep up with a Genny. We were so flat and composed through that turn that my wife didn't even complain that I was going too fast, it was just another day getting on the freeway.

Cracking up laughing at the crack up of another bondo burner sputtering "VIP" rimmed hoodie machine. Good going. Maybe that curbing got rid of some of his too obvious negative camber.

Look out now... The Grecian formula/"Just For Men" hair care crowd will be mocking you for watching this bouncing laughing gas car in your rear view mirror, as you speed along and merge.

Haha, wouldn't be the first time on this post that someone disagreed with my dangerous idiotic driving choices.

It was funny today, we are coming back from a long day of attending mothers day parties, and while we are right down the street from our house a guy on a Harley moves around a slower car, pulls up next to me a guns the throttle. Now I have my wife, my two daughter and even my Maltipoo service dog in the car, the road is open and perfect for dusting this guy, but I relented. From the back seat my 10 year old daughter say's "Dad he wants to race, aren't you going to blow him away?" I couldn't have been more proud of my baby girl at that time, but I told her "a race is only fun if the other guy has a chance, that guy doesn't have a shot in the world."

Funny... Good girl. Padwan has a good teacher..

She sounds just like my daughter :D

Yea, he ran a 13.5 in his 2005 with the 5.3 with a much milder cam headers n tune w/o stall. that setup had him @ 350hp and 338tq to the wheels. The cam he is running now on a 6.0l which boast an additonal 30hp&30tq over the 5.3 in stock form. The new cam a 50hp bump over the older cam untuned. He's yet to 1/4mile the truck, but in the 1/8 hes running 8.3's at 80mph plus. so he should be in the 12'8 to 13'1 range. We are headed to the track in June after I install my borla system. His worst at the track was a 8'5@80mph. I'll post more vids then..

completely stock exhaust, only thing I have is an intake by weapon R.
Im installing to borla system in june, I will track it and dyno with video shortly after.

Kewl... the loud exhaust I heard (or I think I heard), the truck.

Oh, try dyno with both hood open, and hood closed. See if makes any difference in HP. When motor and under hood is at full operating temp. If they will allow you to do that without extra charge. Some of the "CAI" in cars go to heck with hood closed on dyno. They pick up very hot under hood temp air.
