  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What is the fastest speed you could ever reached with your Genny

I have hit 146 several times in my 2015 5.0...limiter kicks in and stops it there. Interesting thing is it will do it in 6/7/8 gear. Only difference is the RPMs it cuts off at. The limiter is also "soft" in nature, just hits the wall and stays there. I have maxed out other cars before that bounce off the limiter abruptly.

160+ at 230 am on 95 south. 2011 4.6l sedan have been over 140 several times as to these cars being wrong for this it runs very smooth and easy to control at high speed

It is not just car but the tire that make high speed driving safe or not. Most modern late model cars like our Genesis have suspension and brake setups that are superior to some of the earlier (1990-early 2000) performance cars you mentioned which surpassed the claimed top speeds posted in this thread on older technology just fine.

The stock tires on the Genesis are rated for over 130mph and most aftermarket performance tires are rated for much higher speeds than our cars can obtain, so blow outs should not an issue with tires in working order without defects.

My Falken FK510 tires are rated for over 168 mph so the 130 mph I reach is not pushing them to the limit.

With that being said, I personally would only drive very high speeds on a straight road with no traffic near by. High speed cornering maneuvers should only be attempted on a track.
All you guys are driving the wrong cars, try Porsche's, Mercedes AMG, or BMW M cars instead they are designed for that speed. As a grown up did you ever consider what would happen if you blow a tire?

And what do you think would happen with the Porsche, Mercedes or BMW vehicles? But the latter would tend to come with better tires for high speed.

I haven't taken my GV60P that fast but I would NOT trust the Primacy Tour tires that came with the car. I often felt them trying to let go even in relatively benign traffic. I have since replaced them with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S HL rated tires. With the Genesis safety rating, and the new tires, I would trust my car at these speeds as much as I would trust the three mentioned vehicles at the same speed and the same would apply to the older Genesis sedans.

Whether it is wise to take any of these cars to that speed on a public road is another matter. Remember, aside from traffic and cops, the road conditions are not generally suitable for such high speed maneuvers and tracks are paved absolutely smooth, roads not so much.

thats mine :)
