And why doesn't Hyundai provide either two more bolt holes for the bottom of the rear license plate or a bracket for it to sit in so the plate doesn't bounce off the paint every time I close the trunk? Plus the plate holder design should hold the plate PLUS DEALER FRAME off the paint. I installed spacers, but I'll bet most people don't. Again, to me this is design 101 type stuff.
The smart cruise option has no normal cruise use. My G because of its operation of disabling the intelligent cruise when the wipers are on does provide a normal cruise mode also. Small annoyances considering all the positive attributes.
But, I cannot understand why you would ever want a 'Normal' Cruise instead of the Smart Cruise?
What possible advantage do you see in a manual cruise control? - I am curious because I just finished a 1400 mile roadtrip and absolutely love the smart cruise.
One of my complaints would be the the speed in which the light go off once the ignition switch is pressed. There is no 30/60/90 second delay. Since this is a luxury vehicle, there should be a delay in the lighting.
Yesterday I was driving home in varying weather conditions from very snowy to almost perfectly clear roads. The sensors on the front of the Genesis became covered with snow and guess what the smart cruise function displayed an alarm on the dash and disabled itself which makes sense. Stopping to clear off the sensors would only work for a while so that was not an option. With my G I would have just held the cruise button down and the conventional cruise would have kicked in. On a 4 hour ride I would have liked a cruise system working any cruise system.
Seems to me that taking control out of your own hands and turning it over to a semi automated system in such adverse driving conditions is not such a great idea, anyway.
That;s how all the commercial air traffic in the world runs today, and they have a far safer record than automobiles. Pilots sleep on a regular basis.
It's fine with decent snow tires. OEM Dunlops, not so much...Snow traction lacks a lot to be desired.
I hate the fact that many owners posting here are reporting as many as 33 mpg and the best that I have ever seen is 28 and typically it is more like 22![]()
All car mpg's are based on driving conditions and styles, which can vary quite a bit. That should explain why the reported mpg's are all over the place. I have experienced the highs and the lows.
