  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I am new to the forum and I just got my used 2010 genesis few days ago. I love the v8 and it moves. The thing is the advertised MPG of 17 and I never really touched that number since I started using this car.

My trip computer says I'm only doing 15 MPG. I am not pushing it hard and my max was in the 4krpm range which I only did like 3 times.

Also, is the factory fog lights were a bit yellowish or is it suppose to be white? The dealer replaced them since they are not working but I noticed just today that they are not the same color as my head lamps and it looks odd having different colors.

Your fogs arent xenon lamps, they are regular lamps, so the color temp will be different. You can look for some bulbs that will more closely match the xenon, or look at getting a xenon kit for your fogs...

I average between 24 and 26 mpg with mostly highway driving, and get about 18-20mpg with my normal driving around town.

I'm in NYC and not in the Manhattan area and just get about 11-13MPG and only saw about 29 on the highway on a trip to Virginia. I don't know about numbers I see here of almost 20 MPG. 100 lb driver 1 gallon of gas and nothing in the car with a good tailwind maybe. Don't get me wrong i still really like this car.

I have a 12 mile, single lane, twisting, back road commute that I range from 30-90mph that I push hard through and still get 17-18. If I fill up and drive home like a normal person, I come in at 21-22, not sure if it makes a difference but I only use Exxon Supreme gas. You might want to check your air filter since you bought it used, I bought mine used as well and my filter was pretty hosed up with leaves and debris. I still find myself looking forward to driving this car, it's like I'm 18 again.

Don't have a V8 but get 21 city and 28-30.5 highway, I also put a K&N air filter in it which helps the engine breath a lot easier.

I bought the Luminics 35w H8 Ultra White 5150k bulbs for the fog lights, they are as close of a match in color as I could find and are great at filling in the dead space between the front of your car and where the headlights begin to illuminate the road. It's a very noticeable difference and looks great.

I will post a pic of them soon as I can.

I have a 2009 3.8. In ym normal commute to and from work, I average between 17.5 and 21 MPG depending on the traffic. On my annual trip to Cape Code (I live in VA), I hit 30-31MPG. I also seem to get better mileage with Premium fuel than with Regular.

Here is the Pics of the Luminics 35w H8's 5150k, not the best camera but it shows how bright they are compared to stock:

Just got back from driving from eastern NC to Atlanta, GA. Averaged 30.5 MPG on highway with A/C on.

How did you install your fog light? Did you get someone to install it for you? I tried installing my lights on my old honda accord and its a colossal failure since I have to remove the cover of the front wheels so I will have a space behind the bulbs. I have a hard time putting it back on and I have to call someone to install it for me that cost me more since its home service.

You can do them yourself if inclined to, but I paid my service tech $20 and he had them in and running pretty quickly...about 20 minutes.
