If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What mpg are you getting?

I've got a not-yet-fully-broken-in 2022 G70 2.0T Prestige AWD. I decided to take a drive around one-quater of the Northern Virginia Interstate 495 "inner loop", from 395 to the George Washington Parkway. This is a combo of a 8-10 lane divided Interstate highway, largely flat, leading to a four lane divided parkway with lots of mild hills and dales. My speed matched the prevailing traffic, at about 60-65 on the Interstate and about 55 on the parkway. The weather was mild, maybe 65-70F, windows closed, air conditioning on, using smart cruise control and allowing the SCC make most of the speeding up/slowing down decisions. In "Eco" mode. Premium gas. Traffic moving smoothly, not stop-and-go, lane changing rarely, only to avoid one or two drivers who simply didn't want to match the speed everyone else agreed to. I got 28+ MPG. That's a bit better than I expected.
Very good MPG. 👍

I had different mileage on 2 different 2022 G70's. I purchased a Sport Prestige 3.3t in Siberian ice last feb. I drove it in eco from VA to Atlanta and avg 26- 27mpg and 10-12mpg driving locally. I sold it and Just picked up the same exact car in Havana red 3.3t. Drove it from were I was in FL to Atlanta 400 miles on one tank! It's RWD and I was averaging 29+. I do get only 12-14 mpg locally a little better than before. Same cars different mpg's. Something was off in my first G70. I do drive it hard, sports mode at times and short distance to the office. My commute is a few miles so lots of short distance driving. When I drive it in comfort and eco on hwy and I'm easy on the peddle the mpg is not bad. Only problem is the fun factor of the 3.3t. In sports mode or sports+ it just wants to go! Those twin turbos are very thirsty. I wish gas wasn't so expensive. Oh well. We all now really got to pay to play! Thanks Brandon ;)

I've got right at 8000 miles on my Launch Edition and my average is just a tad over 20 mpg. My driving is very similar to yours. It's just 8 miles from my house to the Coca-Cola plant and I usually have a tough time keeping my foot out of it😂. The highway numbers I get are also similar to yours. The car is generally in Eco or comfort for highway driving with the exception of the on ramps. Sport + is a must for those😁

I'm very happy with the overall mpg I get considering my heavily modified 2018 F150 was down in the 12-14 mpg range.

At very first fill-up. Says 124 mile range left, but I probably could've gotten 500 mile total if I'd kept going at that pace.

I was taking it real easy, of course, breaking in the engine. Average around 60mph but varying speed and RPM a good bit, with lots of off-throttle coasting.

I don't normally drive like that, of course. These days, I get around 25-26mpg in mixed driving. Hwy cruising climbs to 30mpg pretty easily.

I don't think it matters which mode you use in the highway, unless you're passing a lot. The engine runs overly lean at all times due to emissions, so eco, normal, etc., affect fuel economy by downshifting more aggressively, and upshifting later than needed. If you're just running 70 to 80 MPH or so, it doesn't matter which mode you're running, since you'll be at the same rpm in 8th, and using the same fuel. You need more fuel if you're accelerating harder, or running at higher rpm. Having said that, I just can't drive in eco or even normal mode, as they're lugging the crap out of the engine, and I can't stand that. Ha ha. Plus car feels lethargic. So I always use sport mode in most of my vehicles, in order for the engines to be responsive, but generally drive very mildly, but with rpm hovering at 2K, rather than just above idle in those lazy modes.

I am getting 15.8 l/ 100 kms which is 14.887 mpg on a 2022 G70 Advanced 2.0T this is 80% city and 20% highway and even in the pic, I attached you can see I am on ECO at least mostly and I do drive on Sport, Sport+ for a minute every now and then.
For all info, this is a new car that has 1163 km 722 miles, and am not sure if this is because it is still new, but it seems excessive to me.
Is anyone here getting crazy numbers like mine?

My MPG is good on hwy drives. I have a 3.3T sport Prestige. It loves flat roads and open hwy. I got as high as 29-30mpg on eco mode. I've heard eco also does some adjustments to the timing etc for better fuel not just transmission shifting told to me by my Genesis rep. Coasting turns off if you use it with cruise control. As far as local short drives in sports or sports+ this car is maybe a little better than a Hummer H1 lol. I can get as low as 8-12 mpg. All depends on how you drive it. If you drive it hard like me... the turbos and the almost 3k psi gdi do a great job at going thru a tank of gas in no time. The fun factor all depends on your budget. But with gas prices going up.. it's getting expensive to play with this car. Good luck and have fun with your G70!

I totally understand and accept the fact that when I am on sport or stport+ I m getting shitty mpg, but i m 80% on Eco, and getting less than 15 mpg on a 2.0T, seems excessive to me, my previous car was a 2015 Chrysler 200 with a 3.6 L V6 with 80000 kms and I was getting about 16 mpg.

That is surprisingly poor mileage for a modern 2L engine, even with a turbo.
Our heavier CX-5 AWD SUV with a 2.5L turbo gets over 20mpg city, and 26mpg overall.

I would get it checked out. This is my second G70 this year. I had a Siberan Ice 3.3t but got a stupid offer for it and Sold it after 3mths and bought same car in Havana Red. The first G70 identical to what I own now got an average of 26-27 hwy under same conditions vs 29-30. I would get your's checked. I have a friend with the same G70 as your's with the 2.OT. he gets 32-33 mpg on hwy and averages about 18 or better local driving. Something may be off. I was going to check my first G70 but sold it before I had a chance. Our cars aren't light... about 3800 I think...but it should still be better for you than what your getting now. Are you using premium fuel?

Darn, that's shockingly low. I'm waiting for our 2023 to show up next week, and even though it shows 21/31 on the window sticker, I expect it to be equal or better than our heavier 2022 SF 2.5T with 22/28 (3,900 lbs vs 3,700), which currently shows exactly 22.0 MPG avg on its 800 miles so far, and that's with A LOT of short trips. The 'problem' with the 2.0T is that it's an old engine, but it shouldn't be less efficient than the 25% larger and more powerful 2.5T. I never imagined it'd be that bad. I knew the 3.3T was bad, but not the 2.0T. The G70 is actually 200 lbs lighter than the SF Calli. The other thing I don't understand is why Genesis recommends premium on the 2.0T too, when it makes the exact same numbers as our old 2016 Kia Optima SX-L made on regular gas only. Stupid. It should be more powerful with premium, so it might actually be less powerful than an 8-yr-old Optima on regular fuel. That's crazy. The other thing is the Optima was only 100 lbs lighter than the G70 2.0T, and never gave us less than 20 MPG in the city. In fact, I think it was significantly higher than that, and it only had a 6-sp tranny. Makes no sense.

Just found out the freaking Kia Stinger, which sits on the same old platform as the G70, now comes with the 2.5T for 2023. That's unbelievable, since Genesis is the reported 'premium' brand, and not only didn't get the full digital dash like the equally old Kona, but now it doesn't get the better I-4 engine, when price went up over 2 grand. Geez.

At any rate, I'm probably going to buy it if the test drive goes well (unless more people come out and say they also get 15 MPG, which would be unacceptable), but very disappointed it wasn't improved like 2 'lesser' models both with dated platforms. Need to talk to the wife if she'd be okay to keep using the SF as a daily, since it was going to be relegated as the travel car. But if that's the case, the G70 would basically just sit in the garage all the time, and only get used when I need to go somewhere and the wife is out too, which is rare. We need to rethink the whole 'having 2 cars' idea, which my 2 daughters just pointed as being stupid. Ha ha. I do have my motorcycle in case I needed to urgently go somewhere. Plus I have my brother's Macan available just 2 miles away.

3.3 RWD here. Just did an 800 mile round trip from KY to VA through the mountains. Indicated 31.9 there, 33 back. Hand calc was 30.2 and 30.9 respectfully. Cruise set at 70mph. Easily over 400 miles per tank.

Mostly just commute with the car about 12 miles each way with some light traffic and usually indicate 25 - 27 mpg so low to mid 20s in reality. I don't go too crazy but I have my fun at times

Wow, those are great numbers. I've never gotten more than an actual 27mpg with my 3.3T AWD G70.

Not sure what's going on with your car. We routinely get anywhere between 22-25 city and 28-35MPG hwy with our 2.0T 6MT. We just swapped 255/40R18 on all 4 corners. Did a 40 mile drive at steady 45-60mph, with a few red light stops mixed in, it got 35mpg indicated, which typically works out to about 33mpg actual.

@ELP_JC About the 2.5T in the 2022+ Stinger GT-Line... the specs looks really good, until I got to the curb weight. 3814 Lbs for 2023 GT-Line RWD with 2.5T. That's only a few lbs lighter than the 2018 Stinger GT RWD with 3.3T, at 3829 lbs. In hindsight, I should not have been too surprised. Substantially more HP/TQ means every part of the drivetrain needs to be beefed up, and that cost weight.

My Stinger 2.0T at 3611 lbs is not exactly welterweight, but I sure don't want it any heavier. Our G70 2.0T Sport 6MT weighs 3580 lbs from the factory. With the 45 lbs lighter Enkei TFRs and 15 lbs lighter custom exhaust, it is now more like 3520 lbs. I'd rather keep it that way - LIGHT makes RIGHT. We just did an AutoX over the weekend, and the nearly perfect 50/50 chassis balance really shined in this course that was full of slaloms.

If I want more HP/TQ, JB4 weighs only a 2-3 lbs. That I can live with. ;)

Just bought the 2.0T Sport Prestige today, and very happy with that one. Feels way lighter and nimbler than the 3.3T SP I had to return, so happy with that. And it feels actually torquier than the V6 down low, like several people said, so pleasantly surprised. And no engine issues with this one. Finished debadging it, but need to order the wings right now, since it looks very weird shaved. Ha ha. Also need to order wheel locks, but already had the trunk cargo mat, and the ridiculously expensive lighted door sills, so not much to get. Oh, and my tint guy is coming this weekend to tint both new vehicles, so awesome news. Just need to touch up the ugly paint seam by the front of the bumper cover, which the other car had as well, but at least less bad. Happy to now be part of the family for good. Ha ha.
