    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. All,

This thread is for listing the feature(s) you would like to see most on upcoming Genesis Sedans and/or what new variants you would like to see Hyundai produce.

Hyundai has indicated that they took a conservative approach in the design of the initial Genesis Sedan, but have maintained lots of room in the design for additional capability. Assuming they are successful with their first entry into the premium car market, what bold designs/features would you like to see them introduce into the current and future models?

Here's the list of features I would like to see in the current Genesis Sedan in no particular order:

(1) Power Folding Mirrors
(2) Smart Cruise Control
(3) Folding Rear Seats
(4) Heated Door Locks
(5) 10 or 12 Way Power Seats with Lumbar and Side Bolsters
(6) Tire Pressure Monitoring System
(7) Cooled Passenger Seat
(8) Remote Start

As for new variants of the Genesis Sedan I would like to see a new higher end Sport Model released with the following:

(1) More aggressive front air damn design, more pronounced side wheel well arches with a slightly lowered body to provide a muscular look and quad exhaust tips
(2) 19" wheel option with lower profile, wider tires
(3) Tuned 4.6L Tau engine producing 400+ horsepower using direct injection and other means
(4) Custom Color options and rims only available on the Sport Model

The max I would like to see Hyundai charge for this model is a $4 to $5K premium over the current Genesis 4.6L.

Any thoughts?

I like your ideas. The only thing I'm not familiar with would be heated door locks.. What are those? Something to keep them from freezing? The direct injected v8 is also a great idea. I agree with everything else as well..

The Genesis has tire pressure monitoring. All new cars do.

I love my new Genesis!

Features that might make it even *more* attractive:

1. Power folding mirrors - like the Azera.
2. Cooled seats (both front) standard.
3. More storage - there needs to be more space for things like pens or change.
4. Get rid of the ashtray - no one smokes anymore.
5. Finish the underside of the trunk.

Yes, the heated door locks keep them from freezing. It just occurred to me the Genesis has a key fob with proximity sensor so this may not be needed. I live in the Northeast and this was a great feature on my previous Bimmer when we would have an occassional ice/freezing rain storm. Of course that was a standard door lock.

I wasn't aware of that. Is that by law? I didn't see it listed in any of the Genesis brochures which is why I included it.

Seth, congrats! I'm glad to hear you're happy w/ your Genesis. What color combo did you get?

Some of you other Genesis owners need to post some pics.....I feel all alone. :( :p

Yup. Starting with model year 2008 all vehicles sold in the U.S. have to be equipped with tire pressure monitors. :)

Seth,

I'm glad you love your new Genesis....great value, stylish, and at the moment very unique! Sounds like you made the right decision in purchasing it. Let's hope the Genesis ends up being a smashing success and Hyundai can continue to improve on this already great car with features like the ones you listed above.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Thanks everyone for the welcome! I got the midnight blue with the blond interior/grey wood, with the premium plus package. the wheels are hot, the color is insanely gorgeous. im used to black leather interiors, but the blond interior is exquisite. the black interior has a brown leather strip on the dash that i wasn't too hip on. i would love to post pics, but my blackberry got run over about 10 days ago and has yet to be replaced by my cell phone co's replacement company. as soon as it comes in, i'll snap all the pics i can. i loaded the kids' seats into the back today - that was a little depressing for me, but my 3 year old cannot get over how cool it is - so GO DADDY! :)

should i get something special for being the first st. louisan genesis owner? anyone? especially hyundai folks? a polo? something! throw me a bone here!

nite all.

I want my adaptive cruise control. Failure to deliver on that promissed feature was a major mistake in the roll out of this car because they have promissed for so long.

Congratulations from a fellow St. Louisan (born and raised; lived near University City .. so I'm quite a bit east from where you are). It's interesting that you live in Chesterfield, I went to a Tech School out there off of Hwy 40.

Congrats also on the Genesis. I'm expecting a promotion in the next year or two, and this car is on my short list. Hopefully by this time next year, the insane markups would have disappeared and hopefully Hyundai will address some of the small issues with the car.

I like all your suggestions! Passenger cooled seat was already on my mind.
I agree about protecting that exposed speaker in the trunk. It is the most unpolished part of the car.
A future model should include a sportier 4-door sedan with a shorter wheelbase that is closer in size to a BMW 5-Series. I would like to see the price stay in the 30K-40K range.
- How about breaking the mold on colors! Racing green, crimson red, etc.
- Keep pushing the envelope on the fiber-optic electronics network

Maybe the smaller, 5-series sized sedan should be the Hyundai Azera?

I would like to see Hyundai, install the rear dvd entertainment package from the preproduction literature. The electric parking brake and adaptive cruise.

Fix the seats. Break the mold in this area, be innovative. I think they would get a big return on investment.

I like the split front cameras on the Korean version. It would be kind of goofy here but cool.

Well, I heard that Hyundai is working to solve some issues with the smart cruise but they ARE headed to US I heard, don't know when. As for the DVD thing on the back, I heard that it didn't make the cut to US simply to keep the price down, even though I still think it would have been a better idea to bring it in US in a seperate option package, so people who do want it and willing to spend more for it can get it easily. As for the split grille, I heard all kinds of complaints and stuffs from the Korean blogs saying that it's like one of the UGLIEST design ever, so I guess Hyundai is trying to improve it. Well, I think.....

These are some options that I want on my next car:

  1. Heated/Cooled Seats, both sides;
  2. Intelligent Cruise Control;
  3. Blind Spot Warning;
  4. Rear side window blinds, power a plus;
  5. Finished Trunk with Power Closer;
  6. Lane Departure Warning; and
  7. Bamboo Wood Trim (like BMW).

I have the heated/cooled seats now, and I think the passenger seat should have all the features of the driver's seat.

Built-in, full time bartender with complimentary, daily happy hour. You know, for the commute home.

A seperate option package for the rear DVD would have been great.

The split camera on the Korean version, mounts up front and displays traffic to the left and right split screen on the drivers info center. For those times when it is hard to see traffic it gives a clear view from the front of the car.

Not actually the split grille. It may be ugly but at least it looks like it was designed by an earthling.
